WHY PEOPLE ARE QUITTING CS- A Discussion

I just don’t think it’s helpful to laugh at “greedy” newbies, or laugh at “greedy” old players on their hoards of ancient rare pets. We all want to collect pets, it’s the point of this site. We need to be talking about ways to do that.

I think it’s fair to ask for an older pet for a newer pet that is in “demand” because how else are we supposed to get it?

Tbh me too. Like I want to collect every (non-store) snake but that's bc I genuinely like the snake design. CS is supposed to be fun not stressful! It's v disheartening seeing a lot of people complain about not getting rares from a pound drop in the CS server I'm in. Y'all got a cool looking pet, why so down?

Honestly it's super hard not to "quit" for a few months to even a couple years temporarily occasionally when there isn't much to do.
Trading feels impossible, I appreciate the effort for the events but it's mainly what keeps me coming on to play, and Monthlies I don't even watch them grow like I used to. I remember back in 2013 I loved watching them grow I checked every day, now I check at the end of the month.... Sometimes.

Yep! Nick has done a excellent job but if Nick could get some helping "paws" to implement some new stuff, that would be wonderful

Major props to Nick for holding on. But having another coder can help relieve the job load for him! I hate to see someone get burnt out

Alright but how are new players supposed to get old pets without being “greedy”

I don't think this is what they're talking about.
I think they are referring to asking for a higher-value pet just because the rock has "demand" currently/is hard to find.

As long as people are willing to pay, people will be willing to ask for that amount. It's just how capitalism works. Plus the perceived demand and asking price, both, of things like the rock, are very inflated. People only remember the crazy trades and not the normal ones. I got my rocks for cheap (uncommons, bracelet snake), and all I did is send out a bunch of trade suggestions.
