I actually think this is a great idea. They're [The Holidays + CS Birthday] far enough apart I think it could work well. It would also get a lot more hype up for the celebration of the birth of our favorite lil internet game/forum C:

I really love this active suggestion about bringing back mini games from past summer events and storing them somewhere on-site that could be visited like a little game room. ^^ I don't really 100% vibe with the idea of giving out pets or items for the games, but more just having them around for idle fun, maybe competing for high scores or non-tradeables like stamps.

that’s such a good idea!! there have been a lot of little event mini games that i’ve always wanted to play again and i think having a little “arcade” would be super fun! the rewards wouldn’t have to be anything too big so that people don’t feel like they’re missing out if they choose not to play, it could just be a little casual thing that people can do when/if they want!

not to mention having an arcade could keep around the hard work the artists/coders put into the games

hey! thought i'd just share my opinion- i started on CS in 2016 i think. was very active when i began playing, i collected the monthly pets, and i would log on to watch them grow and i had a wishlist that i was trading for. in the next couple of years, my activity probably remained the same (if not more), and i got into writing and roleplay on this site and my interest in trading sort of fizzled out a little. and then i got into oekaki, and i would log on nightly or so to color or sketch something or purchase a character! with the present and last year, school and work and health have sort of plagued me so i went into semi-active mode; but i guess you can say that i've dipped a little foot into everything around here! personally i haven't seen an awful lot of growth on the site, and it saddens me to see that activity is dropping (as i am part of the cause for this lol), this site helped me develop my art, writing, and communication skills and accepted me into a loving community. i really do think that what loelya mentioned would be so amazing! a part of the site built for that would def help re-engage older users as i'm sure everyone would love to see their favorite mini-games and events, and just remember the good ol' days, but it'd also attract newer players w/ any collectibles/stamps/rewards the game has to offer (just going off of my experience where i had a raging interest in trading and collecting when i first joined)! but yeah, that's just my two cents on the issue ^^ really love this site and the community, i know everything will pull through :)

Like I've said in the past post, I think rereleasing stores is a bad idea, I think maybe a way to earn one or raffle one off is better. it doesn't plummet the value too much but it helps users get a little more grasp on said pets.

Agreeing with this, don’t rerelease store pets. I think the raffles bit in C$ like Flightrising’s Roundesy is a far better idea.

Edit It also makes a good sink in C$ (FR’s intention for Roundsey is a treasure sink, and it absolutely works) and site staff/runners are able to decide exactly what’s being put up there. Maybe it’s something more ‘basic’ like a 2019 store pet so nothing’s crushed too crazily.

this is definitely a better idea. a monthly/bi-monthly raffle would be fantastic and definitely contribute to a more frequent userbase! and instead of making new store pets to raffle, they could use ones from the pound/deleted or banned accounts. that way no promise is being compromised and everybody has a chance to own one!

if they did something like have mini-events alongside the major yearly events they already have, i think site traffic & growth would rise massively. or have something else to do in-between events. if they made a simple event that included a mini-game with tokens & exclusive pets you could win with it only being around for a month or two, just a filler until the next major event, more people would want to log in. that's just an idea though - just.. anything that's a change i guess. i want more to do outside of trading! even more than what i said would be better, that sounds manageable though.

AND/OR A DAILY LOG IN SYSTEM. IMAGINE GETTING $CS FOR LOGGING IN 7 DAYS IN A ROW?? daily quests - like 'complete 1 trade', 'change your signature', 'comment on 5 forums' & you get a prize at the end. maybe a new currency? i can think of so many things they could add to the site & they'd get heaps of new & returning players back on here for sure. i know that it would be a time/money investment but i think it would be worth it in the long run.

I don’t think C$ is the way to go since it’s a paid currency. It can work on sites like PFQ and FR because it has the paid and non-paid currency, but we only have one here. I do think a new mini-currency for buying little things in a rotating or flat shop would be nice. Popup limited shops would be fun too!

Pokéfarm has scour missions, where you can send a pokemon on a mission that takes several hours, but in exchange you get an item, currency or other stuff.

I like that! Same thing with the limited shop stuff.

In addition, Pokéfarm has weekly dress up contests, something that I feel could be brought over to cs easily, considering we already kinda do that? But on Pokéfarm, the most popular dress up is chosen by voting, and the person who made it gets a prize if they win.

Pokéfarm also has large monthly challenges that involve user participation, which would be a great way to engage the site's traffic.

Finally, Pokéfarm has achievements, and I think cs could benefit from a similar idea. Achievements could be stuff like "Trade with others 50/100/200 times" "adopt from the Pound 75 times" "Like 300 masterpieces on oekaki" "color in another user's base 10 times" "Post in the forms 1,000 times" "have a piece of art be featured". And completing them could maybe give you an exclusive pet or stamp?

There’s so many good points being brought up! I do think CS could benefit from these.

that's my worry as well. the only currency here is pay-to-get and it wouldn't be too good to sink currency paid with irl money into something you have a very low chance to get in a lottery.

In any game that has an economy (which is basically any game - economy doesn't always mean money), an effective currency sink is a must. Without it inflation runs rampant and new users get driven away because it's so hard for them to get a toe-hold in the economy; essentially they are unable to get anything worthwhile and so what's the point of playing?

Yes, it is a paid currency, but there needs to be a more effective way to get rid of it than the store. As it currently stands, inflation is a very real issue on this site because the store prices are not well balanced when compared to the price of C$. It simply doesn't work as a sink. A lottery would be perfect, it could run daily/weekly and the entry fee wouldn't be that high (I'm thinking 10C$ (which equates to about $0.50-0.60). I'd have to do some math to get a balanced number). This amount wouldn't be a huge loss, and it would make winning the prize feel great because you got way more worth for your C$.

Lotterys are a very common currency sink because they work. If it were to be implemented here, the total amount of C$ on the site would lower, the economy would become more stable, and those pets/items you want would be more achievable - especially for new players.
