[urgent] this site really is actually dying

anyone remember the 2020 carnival event? one of the first events i participated in when i rejoined the site, and that was honestly pretty fun in my opinion (or maybe it's cause i'm a big plushie collector and that one plushie stall was where all my tokens would go but still), the 2021 cave event was kinda.. boring in my opinion? it didnt excite me as much as the carnival event, but it was pretty interesting. 2022 was my second favorite of the three, because the theme interested me. maybe we could vote on the themes for the event? that would be pretty interesting to me, but ig some people still do like the surprise of it all too..

also irrelevant but if it already exists then just tell me but i'd love to see how we could find a certain post in a certain forum, such as this post, i had to keep scrolling backwards to find my post, and in the forum games, i usually like seeing how people replied to mine

i would love to see a summer event vote so much. i think it would bring the community together and make the distance between players and staff a lot less immense.

Offering another point not related to trading-

I've noticed the userbase is much less friendly and supportive in general. Not in all cases, but a few examples stick out to me, such as how the Comfort Corner thread used to be full of people offering, well, comfort to others who posted. Now it's just entirely people venting. I can't remember the last time I saw someone reply to someone else to actually comfort them. Not saying it doesn't happen, just that users seem less likely to do it than they used to be.
And the pound catch thread used to be full of people congratulating others on their pound catches, nowadays generally nobody replies to me when I post- it seems to be less of a discussion and more of a "look what I got", with the occasional person being grouchy that they missed something lol

I know there's a discord/etc for chatting, but I don't want to join a discord server or other external thing just to talk to people on a site that's mainly a forum. I joined CS, not discord, y'know? But CS doesn't seem to be serving users anymore, so people are going to move on to a place that does suit their needs, and away from the original site that isn't catering to them anymore for one reason or another.

(Sorry if this was previously brought up- I did see some others talking about a general unfriendly vibe but I thought I'd offer a specific example)

I do like the idea of the summer vacation being a surprise, but I also like the idea of the community voting for what it will be, so maybe an anonymous vote and people cannot see the results until after the event begins?

I’d also love to see an arcade section on the site, and maybe rewards that don’t require you to be playing all the time and don’t have rarity? Like badges or something being unlocked?

I’d also like to see more ways to get valuables, I don’t know how this would be done, maybe a weekly site raffle or one-off events to get rares. Especially old rares as they are so hard to get otherwise.

I’d also like to see new URs that can pop up in litters, like the zebras! I feel it would increase the site's popularity, as zebras aren't as rare as they once were, and they've been around for a while now. Zebras could still be there but there is less of a chance of adopting one.

I don’t like the idea of store pet rereleases, a while back I suggested store 2nd gens and I still believe this is a way for people to own these designs without affecting the rarity. I’d love to see a patchwork or raven 2nd gen litter in the store, I’d definitely buy! They’d also have good demand right from the start, allowing people to get lots of old rares.

I have only skimmed a bit over this post and I also share the feeling of this site being past its prime wich is really sad... I love chickensmoothie.
maybe just opening the pound even more would be cool. I know a few times a day is a lot but sometimes I miss days because of work/school/other stuff. And in generall doing more with the pound. There are over 700.000 pets in there and sure loads of really valuable ones. Maybe once a month you could get a special opening where you get 20 rares or up pets chosen at random for every player and they get to pick one. you could combine that with the idea of daily tasks. like logging in every day and getting at least three trades awards you access to this special rares pound. it would be a great motivation to log in more often and a nice opportunity for even knew players ar older players coming back to get some rares without having the entire archive memorised.

Quick addition re: the summer event before I head to bed-

I really miss the community aspect of the events where we had to work together to contribute to a goal and there was a big progress bar that showed how much we were all doing together. Since that stopped, it hasn't felt like we're all coming together as a community, more that we're just playing the same game separately.
Anyone else feel this or is it just me?

I've read all of this and I 100% agree, when I first joined it was fairly friendly, but i've noticed how it really has died down That being said, since ive only been on for 2 years I cant say for sure what it used to be like. I agree in the fact that its really hard to get good pets, I have yet to get any

Yea, they've [staff] has said there is no point in an app since the website has a mobile format, even though the themes there can't be changed and imo its not really well optimized.
