"For display only" group trade setting

No support. As a function,it just wouldn’t really add anything of value to CS and would likely negatively affect trading. (Clutter as well as making it harder to find trading partners who are actually looking to trade)

NFT groups have already been used as display groups so in a sense it already exists. In order to make it so someone can’t add those pets to trade(often anyhow),you’ll have to get crafty with your wishlist And set the group as for wishlist only. All of that is a hassle in itself and requires you to keep your wishlist small,specific,or only full or really hard to get pets.Its important to note that doing this does lead to less trade engagement since many just wouldn’t be able to trade you at all with a wishlist set up like this.It would be at the expense of your own trading,but if you are someone who doesn’t care to trade much,it’s an alternative.

I will admit that whenever I see a nft group while attempting to trade, my immediate thought is “bragging” regardless of what the intention may be. It’s not that I want to think it,but it’s what my mind jumps to which I think is true for many others as well.

I personally don’t see something like this being implemented since it has potential to reignite old arguments about nft groups and also make trading difficult for those looking to trade. Trading brings a lot of players to the site so I don’t see them adding anything that could potentially affect that.

no support. trading is for trading. maybe a profile feature can be added instead where you get to show off your pets but i just dont see any reason to in your trade groups and i often end up just not trading at all when pets that are not for trade are unlocked

I don't mind saying what you're too polite to say, NFT pets in trade groups is absolutely bragging. I genuinely don't see any reason to have them there other than to say 'look what I've got'. If it's not for trade, I shouldn't be able to see it when trading. Put it in your sig, your trade rules, a thread you've made for your favourite pets.

This is why I (and many others) have said no support to the 'display only' idea, just to reiterate.

I think this is a cool idea outside of trading. The list of links below our Username on the right would be a perfect place for "My Favorite Pets" or something like that!

I'm highly in support of this, on the other hand. This would be perfect.

Want to showcase your pets? Put the link to the group on your profile and trade thread. In trading, you cant even see the dress-ups so youre just looking at pets not for trade when you're there TO TRADE.

There are so many ways to showcase special pets because its okay to be proud of the pets you have. Be proud you got a dream pet of yours that you worked so hard for. But putting them in trade groups when theyre not for trade is not the place to showcase them.

Here are some of my suggestions on showcasing your pets.

1, There are forums you can post that are specifically designed to show off your pets.

2, If theyre dressed up, post them in the dress up challenge. Even if it doesnt fit the theme, your dress-up can still be posted. Its what I do when I love a dress-up, but I want to change it. It even saves the dress-up so if you end up changing the items your pet is wearing, it still saves the dress-up you posted.

3, If its one specific pet youre wanting to show off, just link the pet in your trade rules. You can post the image so it will get seen. A lot of people even make the pet be the one telling the person who wants to trade all the rules.

4, If youre wanting to show off a collection like you got all the warrior cats or Zodiac dogs, you can say something like this on your signature and/or trading rules. "My epic collection of epic pets!" It's can be posted where if you click the words, it will take you to the group.

5, Its basically the same as one above, but you can also do it if its a group of pets that are dressed up. Or a hoard group. Then its up to the other player if theyre interested in seeing your pet group.

These are all my suggestions. There are probably other players who also have ideas.

I want to say that I feel if it is a few pets that says its a welcome group, then its okay to show it. Others are allowed to have their opinion. Thats just mine.

Trading groups are not meant to be showcasing groups. They make trading difficult. Often times it's frustrating when you see a pet on your WL (most people go to the bottom group called "Pet's on your WL") and see that its in a NFT group.

People who just offer on NFT groups saying "you should have locked them" is rude and I dont think that's nice to say. Just like you having the simple solution of locking the pets, the other person also has the simple solution of just not trading.



I know this subject can get into fighting really easily, so I hope and encourage 1 or more MODS are keeping a watch on this incase it gets to arguing and mean words.

its a common autistic trait to collect and then want to show people those collections. it's not "bragging", its being proud of what you've collected and wanting others to see it! autistic people are commonly mistaken as being braggarts which just is not fair.

when you go to crystal shops, sometimes they have a giant amethyst geode on display. it isn't for sale, its just for display because its cool. you can still purchase other crystals from the shop. you dont even need to acknowledge the amethyst if it bothers you so much. same applies here.

it feels like entitlement to expect others to adhere to how you think the game should be played. just because you can see something doesn't mean its for you. i get its a bummer when there's pets on your wishlist that you cant have, but in this case, the pets wouldn't even show up there. its a completely optional viewing experience that wouldn't affect you if you chose not to click on that group. yes, trading is for trading, but not everyone is so lucky to have people visiting their profile just to check out their cool pets. People dont do that, as much as you want to claim you do.

you always have the freedom to trade with someone else if you dont like how someone has their pets set up and displayed. no one is forcing you to continue trading with that person, and there are thousands of people on this site you can trade with that dont do that if you so prefer. yes, it's frustrating, i get that part, but this is an online website where you collect little pngs of animals. it feels silly to get so worked up about how someone else organized and displays their pngs of animals. Just trade someone else and move on!

agree so much with everything you said, doe!! i have so many groups that are just to collect pets that remind me of a particular character/person/pet and i think it's a good little signal to others who also enjoy the collection, but in a no-pressure kind of way. that's why people have welcome groups, and i think that's a sweet idea, but then it's tough because so many people want to show their pets off!

some have suggested using the other formats to showcase your pets, but if people are already using the trade function to show them off (which is, i agree with doe, much more likely to be seen than navigating to someone's collection), then I think it would be great to make that easier for them!

i have a hoard of very common rats that all have the same name and very few of them have a simple dressup. i think people would really enjoy seeing them when they check out what kind of person i am (by scrolling through my groups before sending a trade), but there's no way to really COMMUNICATE that in the current trade system. could i just make a scene with them? yep. but that's not really what people are asking for in this thread! and i think it won't inconvenience people who DON'T want to use the feature any more than the current system...........possibly far less, because it would be CLEARLY identified as a display-only group.

No support, if I click the "Trade" button I would expect to see things I can actually trade for. It is super frustrating to try to trade someone, go to "Pets on your wishlist" tab and see 26 pages of "NEEFT" or "Showcase only" groups.

Like others have said, if its a single row of "Welcome Group" pets thats a different scenario and I'm ok with it. But I am not going to waste time sifting through pages and pages of unlocked groups to find the few pets that are actually for trade, at that point I'll go trade someone else.

I would be in support of adding a new profile sidebar link that people could click to view a 'showcase', though, as long as those pets were separate from the main 'trades' group. That way people could have a separate showcase group and not worry about people sending trades for them, as well as traders only seeing pets that are actually for trade.

For me i do click into pets groups much more often than you'd think and much more often than majority of people, but i see what you mean. I also have autism but like, i dont feel the same need to showcase what i've gotten in this aspect of pets. then again it varies from person to person so!

Also the problem only comes when you have to pick up each one of the crystals to check the label under it, and then theres hundreds of crystals and half of em say nft. like another person mentioned, welcome groups or single nft groups are much much easier to work with ^^ its like, the nft showcase crystals are sorted to one side of the shop.

personally i feel like maybe this problem could be solved by like, making a showcase place? similar to how the rest area of this event works, where it shows cool pets or something. could be paired with a love feature that was suggested, well its just like dressups.

No support, I use ‘pets on your wishlist’ when trading, and it’s a pain to weed through hundreds of pets if the user has NFT groups open…

It’s a cute idea, but it just makes trading even more a hassle; especially if people have 100+ NFT groups with 1 UFT group unlocked.

No support. IMO this would cause unnecessary trade group clutter.

I trade lots with people and i dont really see that much issue with going through the pages- For me if i see 200 different groups im just not gonna trade, but usually i just go steaight to the wishlist part, and check from there. It may just be my like hyper brain able to scan all the pet names and group names and everything and figure out which one is nft and whats ft, so i'm just saying that i personally don't struggle with 26 pages of nft groups. I can see why one would struggle, though!



All in all, trading area is for trading. it's probably much better if there was another place to showcase pets, similar to the one currently in the event. I think that ought to settle the disagreements, eh?

Undecided. The main argument I'm seeing here is that it would create more clutter in trade groups and 'trading is for trading'. Like a few others have suggested, I think if this showcase group was elsewhere like say a separate section of the player profile or even it's own page under My Stuff it could work. Idk I'm just throwing out thoughts here.
