Suggestion: Pings avaliable on CS? 400+ SUPPORT!

I think that some good points have been brought up by people who don't support pings, but ultimately I am leaning towards support. I think it would be tricky to implement pings and getting used to it would take some time, but ultimately I think it would be for the better and communication would be so much easier. People have mentioned this already, but Flight Rising has pings and they're super useful.

I don't want to read through all 22 pages to see if someone said it, but if someone hasn't already, perhaps new users could also need their post approved if they ping more than 5 people to prevent people from making an account just to spam everyone with notifications (users who have been around longer would not need approval, so pinglists and stuff can be used)

Honestly I'm shocked that this isn't a thing yet. My experience on this site would improve drastically if I got notifications when somebody responded to me. Most of the time I spend on CS nowadays is on the forums, but what's the point if I post and forget to check? Or if someone responds to an old post of mine, how would I remember that if I don't get notified of it? A large appeal of CS is the forums and it baffles me that it's been over 10 years and there hasn't been a ping feature yet. I hope I'm not sounding too demanding here, but this is a feature that would honestly change my whole experience. I really want it to happen someday.

I'd love a like button too for when a comment isn't needed, but the ping feature is more necessary I think.

yea if the pings came with an option that'd be great for the people who don't support it as they could turn it off. life would be much easier for the people who do support it.

I would support this IF it doesn't mean annoying pop-ups on my screen similar to most social media sites. I honestly would be done with this site if it started introducing pop ups and went the rout of most social medias.


I would like something similar to the Messages notifications, where it sits in the bar at the top and you don't have it shoved in your face but can see it and click it if you want to.
