CS Needs Another Archivist

I don't understand why the archive isn't 'preloaded' like events are. With events, its always 8am CSST that things rollover and new stuff is added and accessible so I'm assuming this is done on a timer and not done manually by a person at the same time everyday. Couldn't the archive be done like this where it's set up to just appear once rollover has occurred? That way the archivist can do the work before hand so that there isn't the opportunity to be late (baring extenuating circumstance where they were unable to complete the work beforehand) and they can just "set it and forget it" rather than having to be on CS everyday.

This honestly is a great question/idea. I do wonder how archiving works, especially since sometimes it can take a few days to finally be on the archive.

I actually never even considered this or knew there was only one, but it would make sense to have a few more, during the event it was a bit difficult to trade without having the pets I needed wish listed. I also noticed a few errors within the archive(pets in the wrong place) , so it must be tough having all of the pressure on a single persons shoulders.

Yes; currently there's only one archivist and they do great but it surely is lots of work for just one person. I was thinking maybe having two official archivists and then possibly a third for backup/fixing any oopsies that there is. Maybe even just the second one do that?

This is what we have the outcome thread for, so people can seek outcomes while the archive isn't updated.

It does get tedious when trying to trade yes, but at the same time maybe people need to develop some patience. (Sometimes me included xD)

I don't disagree with the suggestion tho

So the current archivist gets paid? It might be a financial burden to hire another one. We could have guest archivists, who are volunteers who don’t get paid, but they work only when they have free time. Many people are glad to update the outcomes thread even though it’s not a “job”.

nobody knows if solloby gets paid, that was just a hypothetical I brought up in case it may be relevant
