Suggestion: Pings avaliable on CS? 400+ SUPPORT!

Yeah I've been on quite a few but I guess I've never seen one that was this heavily modded.

Anyways, looking through the phpbb home page and other related pages I found that there was an extension that was exactly what I said in the front page, so all he would have to do is download it and mod it to fit the site. So maybe it was easier than previously thought. :3

I support but only if it doesn't stop you from being able to edit posts.

On Foopets if some-one likes a post the owner can't edit it. Everyone hated that, especially as people used to go around liking posts just so the owner couldn't edit. It meant lots of people had HUGE titles saying ; "do not flag" everywhere.

Yeah. I don't see why it would cause the person to not be able to edit.

Well, if a person edited their post while having a ping on it, wouldn't that mean a ping would be sent twice? (Once for the original post, twice for the edit)

It could, I'm not entirely sure how the mechanics work until it's added to the site, but I'm assuming it would be similar to how other sites use it, so I'll have to so say no, it wouldn't ping you twice. And if it would it would be alerting you to the new update to the post so it wouldn't be too bad

The way Aywas does it is by ID number (On there you can have the same username as someone else)

So for me on CS it would be @214862, then a notification comes up on a bar at the top of the CS pages. "XYZ Replied to your post/topic"

Thing is Aywas was written in HTML/CSS and not PHP so I'm not sure how that would get coded on CS.

But they also have topic subscriptions too which has also been suggested on here.

Edit: And no I don't think you get pinged again when a post is edited. Plus you can edit all you want. Sorry just reading some of the recent posts on this.

Yeah. We can figure that out when it does get noticed by the coders of the site. Until then though we won't know how it will work.

Members here have id numbers too. Mine is 30130. XD almost symmetrical.
