I’m not sure about the exact data because that would make trading even harder with people trying to do math to match exact numbers.

I think the common sectiom doesnt need any additions, but the tlrare section, since that range is huge.

I was thinking to add the EC, then shift the whole spectrum up so more of it covers the rarer pets.

I haven't read 170+ pages, and I'm probably not going to. I did see some disagreements about Horror's list existing and then explain rarities need to be on a spectrum. Horror's list originally was a condensed list on rarities. It's still there, showing when a pet turned very rare or OMGSR. The problem was that people don't abide by rarities and repeatedly asked for a demand list. People ignore rarities of older rares and very rares because of demand. The raven took an entire year to become very rare, yet it's considered worth is multiple times that of other store pets that are rarer. To add on people will trade for a pet, then try to "turn a profit" instead of trading the pet for the same amount they got it at. Horror's list is not the problem, it's the way people trade.

To compound the problem is how re-releases happen, or really, don't happen. Instead of having just one day where people log back in to slam the site, spread them out. New accounts can't even adopt from the box. So why not have a box every month along with the monthly adopts? They don't even necessarily need to be all rares, just enough to start bringing the rarity of the older pets down a bit and give new players something. As with Dec.18th, have it to where the person has to be on site for a couple months before they can get the box. This could allow for increased activity throughout the year instead of just during events.

To answer an earlier question about CS making money off ads. Yes it does. The estimated value based on a site's ads is public information.

There's also so many small quality of life suggestions that could really help: More advanced sorting, multiple wishlists, nested groups, etc. These could really help improve interactivity and honestly morale. Implementing even simple suggestions makes people feel heard and included.

ive def had some rude messages and have seen others get super rude messages, not blunt or tone confusion just outright mean messages in regards to the persons identity and intelligence.

i know that tone tags are a controversial thing but i think as someone who prefers them when being talked to there should be more accessibility towards others like me who feel the need for them. im not saying everyone needs to use them, but for those who would like them (me and others) maybe we could get a stamp or idk have a little more push for that. just general accessibility and kindness should be more of a thing.

I'll third this!!! I've had SO many rude messages and it's usually because other people don't know value and think i'm underpaying, then when i message them (nicely) about the actual value with links, they ignore me lol.
But I've reported a couple of really rude messages but I get told off because "everyone is allowed to cancel" which...yes... but at least take two seconds of your day to say no thank you instead of no lol.

But even if tone tags aren't used, a simple smiley face will suffice! I still don't understand tonetags, I only knew they were a thing like... 2 days ago? But go old school and use a smiley face, it takes less than a second and completely changes the tone 😂

Maybe we could have some sort of automated messages because I know some people struggle or are in a hurry to write a message.
Maybe when a trade is cancelled and the box is left blank, it could auto message a " no thank you! :)" to the player receiving the decline. Or if someone accepts, it could be " thank you!:)" something super easy that doesn't feel rude!

Also seconding this, we NEED a divide between very rare and omg so rare asap,<3

There's a suggestion that someone wrote up which could use support for that exact reason
Forum/viewtopic.php?f=119&t=4886605

It would be great if people gave more opinions and ideas :D

Not really, but this could be usefull: Forum/viewtopic.php?f=119&t=4111535

so many declined ones and suggestions threads that have been active for a decade but no implementation 😭 disheartening

something about this in particular is actually pretty funny to me, considering we're having the exact same conversation over 10 yrs later

For real, I’ve had some uncomfortable messages in PMs after declining a trade even if they weren’t outright rude. Like saying that they were “extremely over” (on their side, I suppose) implying that meant I should’ve accepted even if I didn’t want whatever they were offering. Similarly I’ve gotten messages about how something is a “list pet, just saying” like that automatically invalidates whatever was on my side.

It’s just something about these passive aggressive messages after the cancellation of a trade that makes me wary of trading a lot that isn’t straight up monthly litterswaps because of the murky waters of trading pets that are years apart because I don’t really get the whole “list” and “ma” thing, and linking me a forum post doesn’t help my understanding much. Like… I’m sorry I didn’t want to accept or that I didn’t offer enough in your eyes? Just communicating without being condescending would do just fine.

Usually I either get lucky with pound catches, free adopts, or off-site trades for my valuable pets, the latter which I haven’t got a whole lot of anymore.
