Massive support!
After my first Dec 18th on CS (it was in 2018 and I joined only a few months before) I got the UR bwolf and didn't know it was worth a lot.
A player who joined in 2008 sent me a trade with a bunch of UCs and a few low-value rares which was super unfair to me and I accepted. After I found out I got ninja'd, I asked the staff if I could do anything about it but they said I couldn't because the other player didn't lie about the pet's value. The player joined in 2008 so they were experienced and knew how much my bwolf was worth so it was scam and not a mistake but all I could do was to block the player who could just keep scamming other newbies.

I always have the "Ninja Trading Awareness" link in my sig around Dec 18th now but it can't protect many people and I think it's mainly the job of the staff and not ours to protect inexperienced players because they have much more influence and possibilities. As long as there is nothing done about this problem, some people will just keep scamming and ninja-ing others.

Don't be sorry Nicole, literally, this thread was made because we asked for a voice and you were it, so thank you. It's not your's or any of our job as contributors to the thread to link every piece of suggestion in the thread. People who want to post and see what's been said should take their own liberty to read through and gage a CONSTRUCTIVE opinion.

It's true, the active userbase is actually quite small. There's 603 users online right now. I feel that there's a lot less than in previous years, and I feel like an issue this big with ninja trades/scamming is driving new users away. I really don't want the CS userbase to get smaller and smaller.

I have several friends who have been scammed out of their pets because they were either new or returning from a break, and all staff said was that they "should've known". There definitely needs to be a change in this regard.

This is why I don't understand staff's reluctance to fix the trading system. CS is definitely shrinking and between the inflated C$ and trading being a mine field it's not hard to see why. If trading is one the biggest parts of the game it should be fun and fair and fairly easy. In this climate for me it doesn't feel like any of those things.

I agree. Ive been active for many years and as an adult and I STILL don't quite understand the created system around rarities and their values.

To be candid, it's a wonderful idea but the demand continues to increase with the idea of "This is how much someone got for this pet, so don't accept anything less"

If scamming is to be reduced, it MUST start with trading and creating a trading system that everyone can understand and adhere to. Something safe, fair and easy. Something that wasn't created because of demand and a users ideas of what something is worth.

Thank you for making this thread and keeping up with it, we all want the same goal here, for CS to thrive and for fair trades.

I agree. I know it's already been addressed but I really think CS would benefit from a exact rarity list. I doubt that will happen though because that isn't something easily done and only Tess/Nick could decide that.
I also want to point out the reason why mods don't care about the size of CS is because they aren't paid. Bigger CS = more money, mods are unpaid anyway. (Which thank you so much I appreciate your work!! Not bashing at all)

Exactly! There is so much demand for a database of fair trades and animal worth. This is a trading site and even I'm too scared to trade because I don't understand. There needs to be a user friendly and simplified tool.

There should at least be a transition from a thread on the forum to an actual place on the website that people can utilize to see a pets worth if they're looking to trade.

The fair trade thread is fantastic but not everyone who posts gets an answer. This is where the change needs to start, to be able to address scamming valued pets from people who honestly don't know better.

Ideas would be: a 24hour window to reverse a trade, statistics to show how in demand a pet is or if value is rising/ falling, transition of the rarity list to a website tool like the archive is.

I know Nick and Tess have already said they aren't going to disclose the # of a certain pet there is (which I understand why). But I think it could be helpful if they (knowing those #s) released their own rarity list. And then had mods that specialized in trading/rarity values. It would be literally as fair as we can get. Obviously the userbase would probably still have demand and such but atleast then the exact value of a pet would be determined... Idk maybe I'm wrong, please reply if I am.

Hi :)

You have a pet with a red tag on it that I really like,
& I have a pet with a red tag, from the same year.
(within 3 months, ideally).
Would you like to trade?

- Please note that the other side has to agree with this theory in order for a successful trade to take place.

Black Advent = same litter mate.
Seems fair to me :)

But supposedly this is incorrect(?)

...I look at a trade before sending it,
& I know there are some pets I will never have in my collection.
(Either for personal preference reasons,
or because looking at one OMGsorare
in exchange for 3 OMGsorare pets seems ludracrise to me.)
I wouldn't suggest that type of trade.

The Retired Rares List had people voting to put an end to telling people what others values ought to look like.
