[urgent] this site really is actually dying

I mean, I just started replaying after 2-3 years of inactivity, and honestly the general scene on here now feels so much more distant and generally unfriendly. I think trading is one of the biggest problems, since with every year older pets become more and more valuable and almost impossibly out of reach of newer players. And because of that huge gap nobody is willing at all anymore to trade down rares or even uncommons because they need to have them if they want at all to be able to grasp older more valuable pets. it feels so much more hostile now, nobody is willing to share because sharing now is so counter to being able to obtain anything of value.
And even I've started falling into the same mindset, it's so difficult to even know what to do with my older pets because some part of me is unwilling to give them up for newer 'less valuable' pets because it feels like im loosing out on other opportunities.

Yeah I think there needs to be more ways of obtaining older pets either through more re-releases or a lottery or something

(i am not quitting I am just a little sad with the encounters i have had the past year) I am one of the people to think about quitting due to being too scared to trade people on here people are so rude and entitled to what they know about rares and the game and how dumb and "unfair" the trade is when I send a message along the lines of "hi I am looking to trade if you're not happy with this feel free to edit ^^ " and I get people not leave a message and just canceling when its say some like "don't be afraid to send a trade if you want anying <3 I am so nice. something about always leaving a nice message" to low key calling me dumb because I don't really understand list and item worth. and also, people scamming me of lists and all that
so idk I love this game but people man... why are they so much meaner now (sorry about the bad grammar and spelling ;-; i am dyslexic)

I wish I knew why people feel the need to treat others that way. And over a game, with pixelated pets. I don’t mind a simple ‘no thank you’ or ‘I prefer my pet.’ I do understand those remarks. But canceling with no message, or cancelling with a rude remark should be considered bullying, which would be against site rules. I’m not sure why it’s still happening so often, especially to new players.

I’d like to make it known to all that you can trade me any time and I will always respond politely and with kindness, whether I accept the trade or not. Kindness goes a long way, and there are people on here that are unable to handle that sort of behavior. I don’t know, would it kill to be a little more empathetic?

I usually do "no sorry" or "no please read rules" or "im looking for this or that currently!" and always end it with a "thank you anyway/though" if i can! i just find it better to be straightforward rather than really petty about it.

i see this conversation/discussion pop up often with CS. honestly there’s nothing we can do to revive the site and i don’t think staff will do much to change it. CS is a product of its time and the fact that hardly any major elements of the site changed in 14 years, just proves it’s not going to evolve. it feels like the site is a time capsule. which can be a good or bad thing depending on the way you look at it. but this has definitely stumped its growth

this is exactly what i was saying :( it’s nice to see the community (albeit a small fraction of it) come together and brainstorm ways to potentially rekindle what the site used to be, but the reality is that most of this will either fall on deaf ears or simply won’t be considered because this website is just so old and it’s likely the staff/tess just doesn’t see any point in making any changes.

edit: i also don’t even know how active tess is on this site anymore? i don’t even think it’s her that does the monthly updates, so the odds of anything major being changed or implemented is slim to none.

It's been known for awhile that Tess isn't really as active as she used to be, however, she did come in during the summer event. She even made the boba/smoothie pets! But yeah, she is mostly in the back of the site now it seems like

one thing that might be interesting could be a birthday reward? they also do this on lioden, where every year on your birthday you get certain items and decor and it’s different every year. though i doubt cs would implement this as it could be considered personal information. once again i really wanna reiterate that most of the websites players are adults now and it really changes how a lot of people view the website compared to when they joined and may have been kids.

I like this idea.
Or they get to open a box, similar to Dec 18th, and they can obtain 1-2 old rare or VR pets. Perhaps these pets are taken from users that are banned or from pound pets.
Although I do see a potential problem with this. Sometimes there are members of this community that try to get away with scamming newer players out of their rare or VR pets. But I suppose that’s why the fair trade thread exists.

It does suck that this would be taken advantage by players that know worths, newer players would have their rare pets scammed easily
