On the topic of getting chances at rare pets; i have often thought having a page where we can say, click a button every 24hrs (like a stamp card) and get a random pet after say 7 or 14 days, or even every 30 days would be awesome! Could just be one pet and supply could be pulled from the pound. In adding an extra pull like this it could allow newer users to get some older pets and keep them in circulation <3

i mean the whole point of new rares/vrs would be for them to gain value. it’d help boost up players who have less value on their accounts.. thats how i see it anyways.

The problem is we cannot tell you what can be done. We can just at most tell you what we would support, and then worry that people will take it as fact and quote it out of context. I guess I can share what I think might be good though, just please do not abuse this.

- I think 2nd gen store pets would be cool. A lot of the original lines of very valuable store pets are not something that could be reused even if we wanted because those artists are no longer with the team and we only have the finished files of their pets, not WIPs of line edits. I also in no way support any gatcha or gambling system to obtain real money pets.
- I would support the ability for users to view their board warning count to be removed and just allow users to rely on the actual text of the message they receive, which will tell them explicitly if they are in danger of bans or account restrictions (this is already true people just seem like the warning count is upsetting them).
- I also support having the Dec 18th release contain more pets or have a second similar event at another time in the year. It would just have to be heavily advertised so people didn’t feel like they missed out on it
- I think the idea of a tiny chance of existing UR pets being released in regular litters of their species is interesting.
- I think an email list that sends out a notification when an event starts would be a cool thing to be able to opt into.
- I think I said this already but I am open to the rarity system having more detailed levels.
- I support the pound randomizing the age of the pets on the page.
- I would be okay with pings but they’re not something I really support.
- I’m definitely interested in the idea of being able to sort your pets manually in your groups.

There are plenty of user suggestions that have been posted on this board that I have supported over the years, a lot of them got put in the pinned thread I maintain. But if an AA posts on the thread and says “support” there will definitely be people who get a wrong idea that the suggestion is being worked on in some way when I do not have the power to do that.

One more note, when I’m talking about the “people don’t like rare outcomes thing” I’m talking about the experience of users not being able to use the event discussion threads to talk about the event because every other post is just complaints about not getting the rare thing yet. It is not hypothetical.

To all the staff commenting on why things can’t happen, while I’m sure we all appreciate you guys for taking the time to read our suggestions, you’re also doing exactly what a lot of us here are having issues with, getting shot down. We want to here your guys’ side on why things can’t happen a certain way, but maybe you can also give us ideas of what could work. When you only shoot us down, we feel like we make no difference, like nothing we say matters. Please, just try to hear us and we will try to hear you.

We are just offering a reason why it hasn't been happening, we've received a lot of negative feedback in the past and taking that into consideration less rare monthlies have been released. We aren't saying it will never happen again or that things won't change. There is a difference between saying 'this won't happen' and 'this is why this hasn't been happening' and neither me nor Lacuna said VR or more rare monthly wouldn't happen. Personally I think considering both sides is important, having a discussion about a suggestion only with people who agree with you will cause people not to consider alternatives or reasons why it might not or could not happen.

no, i'd find it rude no matter who said it, even more so if it was from a regular user. i didn't say it matter of factly, i included "iirc" meaning "if i remember correctly", as in "just based off of memory, this is when the last rare pet was released normally" . never did i proclaim it as if it was a fact :/

I apologize for that, I'm not familiar with most text speech and must have just glossed over that bit (pretty much the only ones I know how to use are idk, imo, and tbh). It really wasn't meant to be mean just that there have definitely been others released since then. Again kinda case in point why I feel like I can't interact with the userbase on a personal level ^^'

I don't care if new VRs are added, or if I never get one right away. Cause as of now, if I have 50 rares from Easter and this event, I *still* wouldn't be able to trade for older rares of even 3 years ago, due to demand. But, if *new* VRs are added, my bulk current rares could actually have weight and worth.

They'd be actually tradable for *current* VRs, while they're worthless for 2019 and before old rares. It would encourage trading more for current pets, and takes some weight off of the demand for older pets, and gives modern 2023/2022 rares some weight and worth and demand.

Edit: I'm aware of the gacha dog, so maybe...add more than one per year? Have a few rare demands/VRs in circulation to keep things fresh and moving

people will always be mad no matter what though. even when every single person active on the site can adopt pets on december 18th and have a chance to have the newest ur or the rarest pet on the site, someone is still going to be upset or complain that they didn’t get what they wanted and another user did. thats just how things work. so deciding to not release higher rarity outcomes based on that seems silly, since people will still complain even if every single user on the site got to adopt the exact same number of the exact same pet with the exact same rarity.

I like this idea. Like the zebras, it would be a cool mechanic that's constantly available and doesn't pollute the monthly topics (trading and discussion) too much.

I'm also thinking of an "achievement' system like Flight Rising would be cool. It's a great way to engage players on the long run by rewarding theù.

Rather than making special release pets an extremely low chance of getting (which makes most collections impossible to finish since they count towards the numbers) I think they should have a guaranteed adopt on the 18th separate from re release. However they're ONLY available on that specific day so if you don't log in you still miss out.

I also feel like rarities aside, some of the monthly adopts should be bi-monthly like they used to be, as a lot of the litters over the last year or so are starting to feel quite burnt out. The litters aren't bad, just a bit bland and I feel like it's causing interest in monthly litters to dip. Giving artists a month off or letting them do a different pet category for a month I feel could lead to better pets in the long run as it doesn't demand a litter, resulting in bland designs. It could just be me but when I first joined over a decade ago and got about 40 pets a month I loved almost every outcome but now it's 70-100 a month and a lot I forget I even have just because there's so many and it's not as enjoyable anymore.

are site changes only up to tess & nick? if they veto a widely wanted change do staff and the userbase have to sit down and deal with it? do other staff have a say in it? /genq i don't think i'm properly conveying my question rn
