Seems to be the opposite reaction here.
Listen, Lacuna. I appreciate the help, but popping in and rejecting ideas left and right, while not contributing anything, is frustrating. You are in a position of power here and you are just using it to shoot us down.

id also reccomend gifting new users to help them out ! sometimes ill look at the newest user and give them a couple of pets to help them get started.
Not sure why you think the last one was in 2015, we have had plenty of rare monthly adopts since then, first one that came to mind was the
2021 gold gatcha dog though I know there are others as well.
i admit i havent adopted any pets that arent horses since like 2020, but i was totally unaware that there were aby rare pets released since 2015.
also it may just be me but "not sure why you think the last one was in 2015" is a perfect example of what i mean when i say staff can sound blunt n condecending at times. you did not need to add that.

It seems to me that would be a perfect opportunity for new users to get some valuable pets that requires no investment other than time. I realize not everyone values event pets the same but I see users valuing them as worth more than regular monthly pets a lot more often that as worth less than monthly pets and popular ones retain good trade value over time. Sure they are newer rares but that would be the same of rares in monthly litters or pets generated in a welcome package and the like.
i mean yes, but also those pets are hardly ever valued so it still doesnt equate to much for new players other than maybe 10c$,,,

That's a good idea
I reckon they should put those left over fodder pets from the pound into a separate place to add to that package. That way it solves two problems and members get a start to their collection for free.
Unfortunately if they did that, then users would make new accounts simply to funnel those randomized pets into their original account. Multiple accounts is a serious issue on CS, especially during Dec 18th and events, and this would likely be abused the same way.
I think having an "adopt a newbie" program that is more active and supported would be good. Older users can gift their newbie better pets and show them the ropes about forum posting and trading so it's not so overwhelming.
i mean this is a stretch but tracking the ip adress to see if more than 1-2 accounts are made in that same ip address then it could mean a potential ban
that and just tracking trades if more than one account is made in the same ip (kind of tedious though,,)

well of course not every month should have rare pets but i think a few months out of the year (3-5 im thinking) should have one rare or maybe even a vr? i think it’d help a lot, even if the newer rares dont have too much value… i still see the valentines lion go for a lot (and ik thats an event pet but i hope you all see what im getting at) so maybe it’d boost players up a little

Wholly agree with Animall here. Thank you Lacuna for acknowledging us, but shooting down all our ideas is one of the exact problems we’ve been talking about. Maybe throw in your own ideas of how you think it could improve! That would be awesome!

I wanted to share that I’m not able to completely keep up on this; there is just too much too read. There are some things I see that are easy to reply to so I just want to help out because it seems like the discussion can be aided by the perspective of someone who knows some of what goes on behind the scenes. I understand that the group of users discussing here might disagree, but we do have to take the userbase as a whole into account and having VR event pets gets an extremely negative reaction overall.
I have made various other posts where I did share my own ideas and perspectives as well.

Why would people be unhappy about VR pets?! I’d die if I got one through an event/monthly adopt
