- Better securing the site so users data isn't reached
- Regulating the economy in a meaningful way to make it easier for newer players to participate
- Stop unreasonable censorship of player's suggestions and concerns

That's three things. That's not too much to ask for. And nobody is demanding these things happen in a day, just that they happen at all. Saying "it's good enough now" is fine - obviously we love and use the site. But it's BECAUSE we love the site that we want staff listen to our needs!

nobody is saying they're entitled to pets, and everyone in this thread has already mentioned what we do get ^^

this doesn't mean we're out of line by asking for quality of life updates. you could def just chum it up to "it's just pixels" which is true but it's not like we're threatening them with any sort of means, we're just discussing improvements we wish the site would make

Ah sorry, I havent read much of the forum itself, just the first post. I'll remove my statement <3

I also don't believe in giving someone 100 09' rares for a single item. It's both unfair for new players and older players with less pets and it makes dreamies feel even more just that, just an impossible dream locked behind 500 2009 pets that you'd need to gather up for even a chance to trade.

I never supported this and I remember when it used to actually be fair and easy and even trading for Warrior Cats was more fair albeit the possibility of 2 09' rares for demand but not 100+

I love this site dearly but trading feels like a waste of time when many feel entitled to half your pet collection for one pet or one item.

this is almost exactly how i feel. as a member since 2013, I feel like a "newbie" because i came back to the site after a long hiatus. i remember trading based on how much we liked the pets in the trade, and all this MA and nons stuff doesn't make sense to me at all. i can totally see how trading would make no sense to a beginner on the site.

in my opinion, though, this is not a staff issue at all, but a user issue. at least, i never even thought about blaming the staff until i saw this very thread. my interactions with the staff have always been pleasant, and i feel that users are the ones that wanted a "clear" system for deciding rarity, because they wanted their pets to be considered very valuable no matter the personal opinion of the people they are trading with. i don't think staff would have any reason to make trading into a clearcut economy, not when the whole purpose on the site was to be a fun way to share art with a community of people that like online pets. we're all here to have fun, but some people have made trading into a very serious economy.

all that said, i have no idea what to do about this. it's really all up to individuals to cater their experience to what they want it to be.

plus, people were quitting cs back in 2013, too. i did! (i came back tho lol)

The population of this site has aged and I feel that itโ€™s mainly a site people 13+ into adults use since it has been around for so long. I did state in my original post that I understood that the admins are busy with their lives and Iโ€™m not asking for them to be completely devoted to the site, but to at least recognize and make an attempt to fix the issues. Especially with the security breaches that have been happening. I just donโ€™t want to see this site die and every day more and more people quit."

I mean... maybe they actually don't have the time or resources to implement suggestions at the moment? There *has* to be a suggestions area because otherwise suggestions will just end up scattered all over the website. People aren't going to just not make suggestions lol

What would recognizing and attempting to fix the issues look like to you?
I played CS a long time ago, for about 3 years, I think around 2016? It was a lot more active back then and easier to trade. People gifted a lot more then as well..

A part of the reason is that this isn't a game you can sit and grind for hours and hours. It takes a lot of patience for even one accepted trade because of how little people are trading now. It seems like the only ones trading are ones looking for very specific pets. That's not going to appeal to a lot of the younger generation because it's just not fun.

Adding, this site is also a clunky forum site that should've been updated a LONG time ago, but CS refuses to hire an actual coder. They're at a standstill because they wouldn't trust another coder, and they don't make enough revenue to hire a good coder. However, if they did higher a coder, they would see more traction because things would be updated within weeks, not years. It's fairly obvious CS is in Tess and Nick's back pocket. It's not their priority.

One of the reasons I quit back then was because I felt like a lot of the community was becoming toxic. There was so much petty drama. I definitely feel that a lot of those people have moved on, but there's not many active players still remaining. Many use this site to gain offsite currency, art or characters.

The main reason I'm quitting now is just boredom and safety. The hacking that happened recently was and eye-opener. Not sure why the security we have now wasn't introduced sooner...

I think there's be MANY suggestions on how to make CS be more active again, but without another coder, I doubt they'll happen.

Oh my gosh finially someone said it!! They had me take mine down a while back as well and I was thinking the exact same. yea and they might just make a rule about no petitions in your signature or something :/ so then anyone who has one could get in trouble

wait that's actually insane. like that's textbook censorship. it's not even funny.

criticizing the site is not hate speech. Hate speech enacts violence towards marginalized peoples and is not something to joke about or use lightly.

How horrible. I'm so sorry you even had that accusation thrown at you.

I'm sure this post will be edited for discussing hate speech, oh my gosh.
Yep, this is where it starts !!! TOT
It's not hate speech!! I am actually using FREE speech 8-)

LETS SAY THIS LOUDER FOR THOSE PPL IN THE BACK!!!

I was afraid to even rebuttal, I don't fancy getting another board warning ;-;

@freepan1
this won't work because, i mean people can trade whatever they want for whatever they want

@floradogfarm
VERY TRUE!

@loelya, I agree!
i get being upset because a pet is hard to get. unfortunately, you can't avoid greedy traitors. what you can avoid is making other users feel wrong for the state the trade market is in.

it is deep to the people who genuinely love & care about this website. a lot of the things you mention are great, but more so seem like ... just settling. we ask for something and they give us the bare minimum. yes there's a suggestions form but look at the sheer amount of unimplemented quality of life suggestions that have been around since ... 2016.

what more do we want? just some acknowledgment that they have a loving and dedicated user base.

there's also... a bit of a difference between someone thinking they're entitled to a pet and not being able to get that pet Ever because trading is so messed up rn and one dog is actually "worth" 50,000 other dogs. yknow?

i hope this isn't coming off as argumentative just stating my take on some of your thoughts !

Here's the thing though. For newer players, they will have to "play" the game for twice as long to get the same pets. Every year, the value of a rare gets cut in half. We already did the math on this. As a player from 2014, you fell into wealth the same way every else from then did. It gets twice as hard every year and in a few years, new players will have absolutely no way of obtaining even the pets that you got for free in 2014. It wasn't easy for you, but the problem is it only gets harder. Also, we have suggestions scattered throughout this thread on what they can do. More rereleases, a more relaxed rarity system, etc.

I want to add that sometimes, having incredibly nit-picky staff and admins policing a "child's site" IS harmful for the players.
Even if they don't always respond to complaints by users, I'd rather the site only reprimand when things are actually harmful on boards than all the time and have the staff care too much about random site drama.

For example, I was an active member of another pet site for years, I spent lots of real money on this site, I chatted in the message boards etc. This site had a huge list of very specific rules to "protect" a child fanbase, and as it was another site that had been around for a very long time, not many children visited the site anymore, and the staff failed to see that. I was inevitably banned from this site for something very, very silly.

I dont want staff that doesn't care about protecting children on a site that children are allowed to visit and join, but I don't want a site where you're scared of saying anything because you don't want to be banned. I fear if staff are tons more involved like some people want, and every possibly outdated rule is enforced, the site will be even less popular.
