I started playing again last week and I hadn't signed in since 2015. I would've been disappointed if they took my account away. Even with an email warning I wouldn't have seen it as I don't have access to my original email.

As nice as it would be to have their pets I would feel bad to take away something they worked hard for.

no support.. as a user that returned after 10 years of not playing, there were many times where i wanted to return, but no longer had access to the email i used when i signed up and could not remember my username; i didn't know there was a way to recover my account until i got the courage to send a help ticket and ask if they could find the account attached to the old email :'3 if something like this were in place, not only would i have not received the email notification, but i would be devastated if i asked about recovery and found out that my account had been terminated & all my pets lost. you never know why someone hasn't logged on! leave old accounts be

I would not support this either.
I know someone who is trying to get their account back but is having issues. I'm glad they have this policy of not deleting accounts because It allows for natural course on rarity to take place as well.
If all pets were in circulation the rarity of most older pets would plummet and taking away something from someone who is inactive but might return is not a fun thing when you are that person who has been inactive for a long time but regained interest later.

In Cs what we have instead is a community that loves giving back so if you want pets there are player owned pounds and giveaways and raffles you can be a part of when someone decides they wish to quit. Becoming inactive might not be a choice. I would rather support them sending out an email to these people to suggest changing to stronger passwords considering inactive accounts to be something that should be protected from malicious overtakes. And if anything if they ever implemented this type of thing they should try to reach the owner of the account before making such a choice over someone's account. But that is simply a lot of work so why go through the hassle. They already have a way to bring old pets into circulation and its the 18.12

In any case old pets also have a value and robbing people of it would seem unethical even if they are inactive they might choose to come back just to offsite trade to a game they do actively play.

this keeps popping up and I'm pretty sure it's listed as one of the things that won't be done, and I agree with that. 10 years is a long time, but a lot of people started as a kid or something and they could be now looking for cheap entertainment as adults. I feel we are going to see a lot more people returning that haven't logged in in years
