I moved the forum post to the suggestions and the moment the topic was labeled as "racist" in the title the forum was locked. This is disheartening because this is a suggestion and needs to be acknowledged as what it is individuals using insensitive terms rooted in what is racism!

I locked it because you already had a thread for this, whether or not it said 'racist' in the title did not factor into it. If you have an issue with a thread being locked you are free to send in a ticket or message the mod directly about it, I for one am happy to explain in more detail if there is any confusion on why a thread was locked.

This thread had also already been moved to the suggestions board days ago as it was clear it better belonged here than the discussion board. We can move threads to boards they better belong in if asked, so re-making a thread in a different board is generally unnecessary. Even if this thread wasn't in the suggestion's board already, its better to ask that the old thread be moved than make a duplicate thread.

no comment on the plantation item as I can't find it but probably would support because having an item named that is strange

EDIT: saw the plantation item on the locked thread, it should definitely be changed.

I noticed a small problem with changing the name of the kinky hair item though; there is already a hair item named coily hair for more "loosely held-together coils" (that's the best way I can describe it)
After my own sort of research, the only other options we would have is kinky and "afro-textured" (which sounds...strange to say the least) and honestly...it looks like most Black hair brands and blogs use the term kinky to describe the hair texture.

saying this as a biracial 3b haired person though, it's not my place in terms of personal experience or how this effects me :]

I have never heard that kinky was a bad term to describe hair, doesn't the word just mean something with a sharp bend or twist in it? I understand it has another, informal definition or kind of slang term that is unrelated to hair... but the words origin is to have a sharp bend. When is this used as a bad term?

I'm not saying the of these items is evil im just saying it needs to be changed because the titles are not culturally informed. I am continuing to ask for a change in title
