agreed with this. they need to hire coders. if cs was sold i think the new owners would drastically change it, like neopets..

Maybe tehy should get some more coders, so its not all on one person, but I mean they built it from the ground up, and its been up for over 15 years!
Dont let this one thing get in the way of having fun and enjoying a game with pixel pets!^^
i agree with this aswell. i just wish someone here would take action, it would break my heart to see tess or nick sell their site, but if they are too busy to handle it themselves , give it to someone who can. instead of making revenue off a site they dont care for anymore.
Agree, I would love it if more people were hired. It just seems that with the lack of anything from admins/site owners recently that the site itself is too much to handle. If they can't hire more people, sell the site. If they can't sell the site, hire more people.

oh gosh yes,, i’ve seen games/sites/companies go way downhill after being sold. i feel like if tess found the right company, they could work together maybe and just improve CS? otherwise, tess needs to change her ways of handling things around here nonetheless. CS is getting worse by the minute.

Well maybe if the staff was more transparent with us there would be no incentive to support something like this. You're right, we do not know what is going on behind the scenes. What we do know is that there have been 13+ compromised accounts within the past 4 days with no real acknowledgement from staff.

They definitely make money off this site, considering store pets are always rare nowadays instead of VR -- lots of people buy them, and they cost C$, so... Plus, many people buy C$ to buy art. And on top of all that, CS runs ads if you have adblock off.
Personally I wish they would actually hire people, even one or two, since to my knowledge all CS staff are volunteers. But I like how this site has a casual "old web" friendly neighborhood feel instead of something more corporatized, so I don't think this should be bought by a bigger company.
doesnt matter how you like this site. its still just slowly deteriorating and soon it'll get so bad something like a databreach could happen
Animal Jam was extremely corporate and they had a notorious databreach (which is likely how the CS hackers got player info tbh!!). Honestly CS' nicheness is what is saving it from being hacked.

oh! wow, this thread happened sooner than i was expecting to be fully honest.
as drastic as this suggestion is, it was a major movement in 2020.
for a bit of history:
selling CS was a thread that began in 2020. the site held major issues at the time with communications, as announcements were far in between and there was seldom communication between the playerbase and the staff team. many valid points were put down in this thread, so i recommend taking your time to scroll through it.
though the staff had promised to alleviate the communication issues between the staff and the playerbase by increasing to monthly announcements and rarity updates, we've quickly learned that this far divide is still drastic. us as the players can beg and beg for changes to be made, yet we nothing is happening. our suggestions are being unnoticed, and we are occasionally even getting shut down for criticisms. while not quite there, it almost feels like we are back to where we were in 2020.
+ the staff are doing their best, and we know this. but it isn't enough. it's become crystal clear to me that we weren't prepared for anything like this, but to think that it's almost been a week and we still haven't had so little as an announcement? we are in the dark. we don't know what's going on, and i have been having to help explain it time and time again because nothing is being said.
we cannot continue to be swept under a rug. if this was supposed to stay under wraps, it's affected way too many people now.
so while i love cs, so many users are quitting because of this. we shouldn't have to worry about our own safety, yet we still don't even have an announcement of all things. no matter what, something needs to be done. we need more staff, more coders, more security. suggestions should actually be listened to instead of ignored. again, i get that they're all trying your best as the staff team, but things cannot continue as they are right now. tess and nick are adults that have their own lives, so to leave everything up to one coder who is busy with the real world is insane. there have been over 10 hacked accounts and nothing has been said.

agree , but yet the mods have not said a word about anything, just a little rotating tip on the forums page. all we want is a REASON they are hiding this from us when we clearly know whats going on.

i want explanations just as much as the next guy but it makes sense for them to gather whatever information they have before breaching the subject publicly. could they make an announcement saying something like "hey we are working on this right now"? sure. but i doubt thatd really appease anyone. its just annoying to see people say "they clearly dont care" when they have no idea of knowing that
