CS Writing Competition [INTEREST CHECK]

I am so excited to see the staff taking user suggestions into consideration!

I would love to see this become a thing, however, what about COPPAs? I feel like COPPAs should be able to enter somehow as well; if they can't do writing prompts then perhaps doing art contests would be great too? COPPAs and regular users could enter art contests using the Oekaki.

I dunno, I'd love to see some ideas on how to include the COPPAs.

I'm so glad CS staff is considering some of the user made suggestions! Monthly competitions with prizes sounds like a great way to get some healthy engagement going on in the website.

Personally, wherever I'd join a writing competition comes down to the prize itself and the requirements for joining it are (if there are ones such as a minimum word count). I'm an adult with limited free time so writing something lengthy for a young rare is not exactly appealing to me. ^^; But that's my personal situation.

Irregardless, I'm very interested in any kind of competitions officially sponsored by the site.

Thank you for bringing this up! I admit I am not sure how we could get COPPAs able to be involved in the writing competition, but I will look into it for sure!

As of this moment, we are only looking to gauge interest in a writing competition. Should this go well, we hope it could be expanded to other formats.

There would be a word minimum and maximum (current thoughts are 500 min 1000 max but subject to change). This would be to level the playing field (quality over quantity!) on the user side, and also make the judging side a bit easier for staff so they are not reading very long novels each time haha.

As for prizes, we are still figuring that part out at the moment, but there would likely be a variation, so it is expected users would possibly be interested in some months but not others.

*insert my not-an-admin-so-I-can't-make-that-call-BUT* Following the same logic as the dressups and Oekaki board, COPPA players in theory should be able to enter as the content would be reviewed by staff before being made public. ^^

This sounds great! I’m just a beginner artist so the user held art competitions aren’t the best for me sometimes. But wringing contest would be amazing! I would absolutely love if this happened!
