I'd actually prefer if the limit was lowered. But have it where the trade in amount was lowered as well. There are alot of people who will never reach the limit due to school, work, sleep, eating, showering, and other activities. This also means alot less stress as you could get the tokens and banner extras in a day or two of non stop play.

The big day for most holidays is just one day. Though it is fair to say it shouldn't be this short. Other activities do happen the whole month to keep things from getting dull. Pet growths still are the main draw as well as daily surprise boxes. I almost wonder what it would be like if Halloween was more like Christmas.

Could this make things more boring? Sure you can say that. Or you could say the fun is increased by removing the tedious farming and simply have those as decoration. Christmas isn't any less fun with the absent of token gathering.

We did not have a banner limit int he Medieval Faire, and look what happened, the unicorn rats are still virtually worthless. The limit keeps the rarities up and in check.

Also, as adult, I really appreciate that CS is so thoughtful to make the site fun for every age. Not only the younger audience. I have not that much time to be online and CS has generally a good balance between effort/reward in such events.

Personally, I find that CS's token events have been getting shorter, which makes it much harder for me as a worker and a student to get all outcomes of token pets and items sets. This does not have so much to do with the token limit in this case as it does with the actual length of the hunting period and, subsequently, the amount of tokens necessary to buy each pet and item set. The four things that affect whether one gets all outcomes of token pets and item sets are thus:
  • How much time you can spend online getting banners
  • How many tokens each pet and item set costs
  • How long the hunting period lasts
  • How many tokens are wasted on repeat outcomes

I'm not sure I am really "able" or "allowed" to suggest token hunting periods be longer, because I don't think the staff care what CS users think about that particular thing, but I think a big problem with not being able to get all pet and item outcomes is simply the number of repeat outcomes we get with each purchase of a box.

I get pretty unhappy when effectively "wasting" my tokens on seemingly thousands of the same pet outcome when all I really want is the outcome I am missing. I know it's supposed to be a random thing, but something just doesn't seem right when I'm getting the same outcome over six or seven times and haven't once gotten a different outcome, the outcome I wanted.

It's not possible to suggest we be able to choose which outcome we want from a token box, as that would pretty much go entirely against the whole idea of the boxes, so I'm just gonna leave this here as a small complaint and an issue to mull over............
I was hacked. Not going to remake all my groups and such unless I feel like it. That's a lotta work. Don't bother with trades, everything's a mess.

That's a good point. My friend tried to get the sitting cat from the recent box, and she tried at least 5 times and got the same pet over and over. Same with some of the other boxes.
I was disappointed about the late start and early finish this year, too. The time period was really short and it felt as though I had no time to do anything outside of CS because I had to get tokens.
Quitting CS. 3 pets per person please.

It wouldn't be rare if everyone has it. That and if we all got all the pets we wanted, we wouldn't need to trade for missing outcomes/ items. Not much good for the economy or pet values. On the flip side if its too rare, everyone complains its too hard to get.

So rarity balance is the key. Take for example my complaint on a post here a few years ago about pets not being rare enough to get older pets in circulation. What happened? My wish was granted in the form of the August PPS Lion and July Lioness. And the end result? People complained left and right due to missing out on the pets and having to deal with crazy demand runs. While it did acomplish what I wanted, had I thought about the consequences, I'd have never asked for it. It was a good learning experience though.

Halloween has good balance. The issue is is it too beneficial to people who have unlimited time? And how can things be adjusted to compensate?
