Although it is relatively easy to set up a rule in the folders/settings/etc area, some users might not know how to set up a rule and never ask, or dislike making rules for their private messages. And I've noticed that there seems to be a fair bit of complaints about the pound pet message, so this suggestion would make a great option in my opinion. ^_^

Agreed, I've seen a lot of complaints about it recently. Though I understand the moral of it, you're suppose to love you're pound pet but some people don't view their pets as companions but more collectibles.

I support this as well.
I just want to trade pets, not have to feel 'sorry' for a bunch of pixels via a reasonably annoying PM every single time.

No support. The point of the pound isnt to get trade fodder. Its to get pets that you'll keep. And the pound message isnt that bad.

It doesn't even say anything about that on the pound page anymore. Newer players wouldn't know until they tried to trade the pet off.

I keep most of the pets I get from the pound, especially ones I get at random when I can't find anything I need, dress them up and keep them all nice in a group of their own, but I still know that they are just pixels and the whole point of this game is trading and collecting these pixels.

Why do we get a sad message if we trade a pet away but not when we delete a pet? If we want to be sentimental about it, then a sad message about deleting a pet, which is- in a sense- "killing" it, seems much more fitting and necessary than trading a pound pet away. If we know the pet is going to someone who wants it more than we do, and we know that that person likely won't trade it off, why should we get a message about it?

I just find it unecessary to the whole of the game. And as has been said, people are going to trade them regardless of the message. The second I get one it gets deleted right away, but it'd be nice if we didn't have to delete it in the first place. It's a waste of space.

No, the point of the pound is to adopt a pet.

When you get a pet, you can do whatever you want with it. Trade it, delete it, rename it, keep it, hoard it. Users have to right to do WHATEVER they want to do with a pet.

It's against the rules to harass someone like "pleeaaase i want my pet back!!", or, "YOU TRADED/RENAMED MY PET!!! GIVE IT BACK TO ME NOW!!!". Once you have a pet, it's your pet, not the previous owner's, or in this case, the pound's.

The point of the pound is irrelevant when you consider that the whole point of the game (for most users) here.. is to trade for the pets you want. Period. If the pound doesn't have a pet I want, but it has a pet that I might be able to trade up TO a pet that I want, then of course I'm going to snatch it up. Like I said in my first post, I'm not going to pass up on a chance at a free pet when it's "not the point of the pound". At its most basic form, it's a free pixel pet dispenser, whether you like that fact or not. :l

I shouldn't be "punished" with a spammy, guilt-tripping message when I try to trade (which is really the whole point of CS).

All I'm asking is for a little checkbox in my options to turn off the dang things, seeing as I don't want to set up a PM filter for something that should have an option to turn them off in the first place. I don't want any other PMs accidentally deleted. I'm not even asking to have the message removed from the site altogether (even though it should be). Just an option.

I kinda like it XD I keep all of my pound pets that I have saved over the years and went to accidently trade some away, it popping up helps me realize I had put them into a wrong group and let me fix that.

I don't really care if there is an option to turn it off, but I don't think it should be gotten rid of completely cause it has helped me out with seeing that my pet was in the wrong place lol I find it useful so I don't lose one of them

I agree, I am tired of deleting that type of message over and over again.
If we can trade them..Uhh WHY are we getting a guilt trip? It is not like we are trading REAL pets that will actually get put down ._.;;

Um... DrinaLestrange is correct... did you even search for what the admins have said about the purpose of the pound?:
Tess wrote:yeah it would be useful, but the pound is not supposed to be a rares farm, you're just meant to go there and pick out a pet that you really want.

[snip]

we'd prefer that someone who really really wants a certain pet gets that pet, rather than someone who just wants something to trade, so it will tell you if a pet is on your wishlist but it won't tell you the rarity value.

Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.
