Mentor system

There used to be, or may still be, a mentor system that dragoncave has/had. A more experienced player would take on a new player and give them advice, answer PMs, and just generally be a welcoming presence. With CS it could help reduce ninja trading and scamming as well as rule breaking since CS has a lot of rules and it's easy to forget some. This would be a an opt in on the new player's part so they don't have to have a mentor if they don't want one.

I don't know if it should be a site run system where people need to apply, or a player run system where people just sign up and head to the new player section to find someone to mentor.

Some of the cons could include:
Some bad faith people, people picking up being a mentor as easier access to ninja new players.
Some people might pick up more than they can handle or spam looking someone to mentor.

Pros really just this could drastically reduce ninja trading and scamming as long as the people mentoring are honest and unbiased in helping with pet/item values. Unbiased as in " I don't personally go by list pet values, but a lot of people do. If you need an explanation on them, I can still help!"

Adopt a Newbie
Taking a small quote from the first post on the thread: "...the Adopt a Newbie program, where older, more knowledgeable users can adopt new members to show and help them around Chicken Smoothie."

Any and all newbies are welcome to join, while "adopters" (mentors) apply via a form posted to the thread and are reviewed by the thread's moderator(s)!

I actually didn't know this was a thing and it's exactly what I was refer8ng to. Maybe there's a way to make the thread more visible.
