Event Notifications (By Email!)

I searched the forums and I did find this general idea mentioned before here, but it's an older thread that I thought could be reasonably added onto.

This is the second year in a row that I unfortunately missed most of the summer event (as in "I logged on only a couple hours before it ended" kind of late!), and I think it would benefit situations like mine if there were an option to be notified via email that an event has started. Sometimes I go through periods where I'm not as active on Chicken Smoothie, and this is a game that usually doesn't require daily check-ins. I feel that it might be a great solution!

i support this, but as an 'opt-in' only sort of thing, not something turned on by default, because excess emails can get annoying. generally though events are pretty much held around the same time each year so it isn't extremely necessary but it also doesn't seem like it would be that hard to implement so....yeah. tentative support on an 'opt-in' basis.
