From the observational journal of Juniper
You move the clouds to bring us all happier days, so tell me, why do you seem to carry such loneliness?
>>>>The others, they don't seem to notice it. They are too busy showering you with joyous compliments, admiring your abilities with immense awe. It may also be envy - but they will never tell you that.
>>>>I am no perceiver of emotions as you are, for you have been blessed with the ability to act as a bringer of joy - and the Starlord has granted you such unique beauty in return. You will no doubt be among the gods we beloved in the distant future.
>>>>But I have seen a side of you that many others have not. Perhaps, if you knew about my habit of snooping in the business of others you would dislike me greatly. And I would not argue - for my habit of curiosity has never been one to play by the rules. Yet that is another thing I have noticed about you: You are perceptive, willing to give anyone a chance to be good, regardless of their past actions, their background, or their status in life. When a child was born with no magic, you placed your hand upon the mother’s shoulder and spoke to her through her tears. Then she smiled and hugged the kid gently, promising that no harm would come to them. When a young perosomo had accidentally set a portion of the forest on fire as a result of their misshapen magic abilities, the others had shunned the one who committed the act, but you had stopped them from furthering their distaste - helping the young fire elemental find the confidence to tell the truth about the accident and regain the trust of friends.
And these are just a few of many. You have always been unconditionally kind. Yet this is all you are to all of them - the one who moves the clouds on dark days, the one who shows kindness to all and gives even the lowest a chance to be great. I have noticed that you distance yourself from them when it comes to maintaining direct relationships. No friends surround you, no family smiles at your success, where have they gone? Were they ever there?
>>>>You make your way into the darkness of night when the stars overhead blink curiously. Then by candlelight, you sit as fireflies flutter in the chill of night and the wind whispers softly through the grass. You dip a quill in ink and press it gently to the paper. There, in the darkness of night in a small patch of grass within the forest with a candle by your side and papers piled, you write. There is a sadness in your posture as you do so. What is it you write about?
>>>>I have since guessed that these are letters that you write, for they are only a page each, and you take extreme care in ensuring that they are flawless, starting over at simply a misshapen blot of ink.
>>>>It is beneath a grand and old tree that I have seen you keep a box filled with these letters, hidden snugly within a root of this gentle tree. I wish to know your secrets, yet there is no way I could ever bring myself to snoop to such a degree. If I am meant to learn what you hide, then it will one day be within reach. If not, I shall never pry.

>>>>I found one night that you left the box placed a greater distance from the root you usually hid it within. Clouds of rain sat on the horizon and my concern drew me close enough to inspect it when I approached.
>>>>This box.. It is beautifully gilded, though faded over time and through the wear of outside exposure, it is truly elegant. Something almost equivalent to an antique perhaps. Where did you get such a thing?
>>>>Written on this box in fancy lettering, though faded, is a single word.
>>>>Solace.
>>>>I assume this to be your name.
>>>>This box, not only have you misplaced it but you've left it unlocked. Why now, and why so? Perhaps only fate will know.
>>>>I am a fool for prying and yet I open it gently, take a paper into my hands and look upon it curiously.
>>>>As I read my eyes go wide.
>>>>The letters you write.. They are poems. Poems to someone. At first glance I had thought them to be poems of longing for one just beyond your reach. >>>>But as I continued to read them I began to realize that you write to one who is much farther beyond reach. Someone of your past long gone. Is this the reason for your loneliness?
>>>>I have copied down some of the poems in the next pages of this journal. Your writing is cursive and just as elegant as yourself, perhaps a bit difficult for me to decipher. They are beautifully written.

“The sun doth rise o’er ruby skies
And yet it struggles
Against night
The sun sits high in azure skies
And yet I hold it
By my side
The sun climbs o’er silver skies
And yet its gone
And shadows hide
The sun it sets on crimson skies
And yet the birds
They do not fly
A cloud hangs dark on blackened skies
And yet it seems
It cannot cry”
_____
“Young bramble slyly creeping
I did not see your thorns
When I looked to you
To teach me about life
Bright sun in azure skies
You bring light in darkness
You taught me love
Weathered rose upon the soil,
You are old and wise
Your thorns long broken
You teach me hope
Old river in the east
You are always flowing
You taught me moving on
Clouds across the sky
Bringing both joy and sorrow
You taught me balance
Heart beating soundly
I believe you a blessing
You taught me life”
And yet it struggles
Against night
The sun sits high in azure skies
And yet I hold it
By my side
The sun climbs o’er silver skies
And yet its gone
And shadows hide
The sun it sets on crimson skies
And yet the birds
They do not fly
A cloud hangs dark on blackened skies
And yet it seems
It cannot cry”

>>>>Are these figments of your past?
>>>>You who moves the clouds to bring us better days.
>>>>You bring so much joy to others.
>>>>You do not deserve to carry such a weight of the past.
>>>>I want to speak to you.

"I could tell you were curious since you continued to return to observe me. I did not mind. No one has ever been so curious about me or my writings before. I felt as if you deserved to read them."
"But the rain-" I exclaim, though you cut me off.
"I was the one who moved the dark clouds nearer to urge you to look, of course."
"I was the one who moved the dark clouds nearer to urge you to look, of course."
>>>>I once again look to you in surprise, but I cannot help but smile.
>>>>"Your writing.. It is beautiful, you write with such heart.” I say, hoping you see the honesty in my eyes. “Your past.. you don’t deserve such pain as the pain you write about. You are kind to all.”
>>>>"I try to be. It is the only way I can make up for who I once was." You answer.
>>>>"What exactly happened to you in the past?” I ask carefully.

>>>>"What exactly happened to you in the past?” I ask carefully.

"Only the ground we walk upon and the stars watching over us will ever know such history.”
>>>>Silence passes between us.

>>>>“I never had a name. Solace is simply what I seek."
>>>>"And solace is what you give. It suits you.” I reply. "Truly."
>>>>Your eyes go wide and I see a moment of thought cross your face. You smile, it is a gentle smile, one not worn with the purpose of comforting another, but one brought truly from the simple joy of receiving a name.
>>>>"Very well then, if you believe it so then it shall be so. Let the gods that watch over us speak of the name Solace for time eternal."
>>>>The one who moves the clouds and brings others joy. The one who is gentle, the one with the difficult past.
>>>>"Wonderful to meet you then, Solace."

>>>>"Of course you may."

>>>>You bring solace to many, you deserve such a thing yourself.
