"I want to be a cloud."

The face of the cat was stunned, wide jawed, plain, and unblinking. What kind of comment was that? A cloud? It wouldn't do any good. It was certainly no reason to get injured the way she had. The golden molly continued to stare unblinkingly at the child. Unsure weather to respond to this ridiculousness or ignore it. Prodding at the medicines eventually she nodded at Kawa to leave her den.

Wide violet eyes prodded the sky once more. Her heart pounding at the mysteries of the sky, and once more not looking where she was going.

"WATCH IT" It was the blue eyed tom Ai. A silver beauty, and prince to the kingdom. "Oh," with a smug face the future king turned his head, "it's just you." Ai then turned back to Kawa with delight in his eyes and a softness to his voice. "Care to spend the afternoon with me darling."

"No thank you." To the clouds once more.

What is a cloud but a relaxed free spirit that roams the world at it's own pace without judgement. It simply follows the winds guidance without worry or desire. If any could perch upon the pillow softness of the sky. Staring endlessly as we all watch birds flutter in the distance. Wide eyes stared deeply into the blue. Violet eyes.

"clouds aw puwple," The same kitten announced without any hesitation, and without pausing, "and blue, and gween and yellow and-" the ranting would have continued endlessly and without pause if it weren't for the full grown molly's interruption. The child's unending energy would ware any cat out who was in their right mind.

The striking adult looked violet herself in the lighting of the sunset, but the kit wasn't even gazing away at all, so enveloped in the summer's air to notice her surroundings. "Perhaps it's your own eyes that are these colors, and they reflect against the sky's guardians."

"Gauwdians?"

The adult cat knelt down to the height of the younger cat, despite the fact that the child wasn't giving any attention. "The clouds dear."

Finally the child stopped, and gazed at her elder. "Wealy misstess Yuwi." the lisp of the child faded slowly with each word, but was heavy non the less. "The clouds pwotect me?"

Yuri shook her head gently. "Not exactly little lady. But they watch over every action you take."

"I want to become a sky gauwdian." The child began to play again.

The sky was thick with cloud cover, not much blue or hint of sun to speak of, so despite it being mid day the world seemed dim. Most cats were inside relaxing away from a gloomy day while our little adventurer prowled the world staring straight up without taking even the slightest hint to what was in front of her. She was easily distracted this way as she was admiring the different creatures and objects she saw. Warned several times to look where she was going wasn't going to stop her frolicking. It never had before.

As always, a sharp rock tripped her footing, and the poor girl stumbled. No one was there to see the incident so she carried onward. Without much notice a yowling hiss came at her from the distance. She turned to face the cat that was pursuing her and glared in the attackers general direction, but didn't quite look at them. She always had a hard time looking at others when confronting them, even close friends.

"Give me everything you got, and I'll spare your life." It was a rogue cat for certain, none that was really allowed in the territory at all. It wasn't unusual when the floating island landed, but she wasn't much of a fighter so had no choice but to obey or be hurt. Turning to the bags wrapped around her she slowly unraveled them to give to the thief without much of a word.

Instead of taking the merchants goods, however, the bandit attacked her without hesitation, as if Kawa resisted their demands. Jolted the molly bolted backwards stumbling about, and leaning on the cut foot from before. Yowling in pain, the rogue batted her with big paws and she slid to the side, off a cliff along with her goods.

Death came to her mind in that moment, when a furry of fluff much longer then her own grasped her by the scruff. A cat of considerable stamina had a hold of her while straddling between the rock faces. "cfrel" The tom attempted to speak, but had his mouth full of Kawa's fur. He pulled her up to the other side of the chasm.

She just stared. "You saved me guardian." For once she looked at her savior. A blue lynx with cloud like fur, and mismatched blue and yellow eyes.

"guardian? no my name is Kumo."

"Like a cloud!"
