cats/allegiances of the pirates
why no leader? the pirates are a democracy, though only trusted clan members above ten moons get a vote.
warriors are split into two groups — swashbuckers and gunners. swashbuckers do the hunting and gathering part, while gunners are fighters.

healers are called quartermasters, and they probably have the most power of any cat in the clan. they often break up fights and bring peace to the group.

cabinwashers are apprentices. named very accurately, actually. they can often be found cleaning the cat’s makeshift dens. cabinwashers aren’t assigned a single mentor, but rather alternate mentors every moon until they are a year old. that’s when they chose their job, or they chose to leave their clan and find a different path, which is perfectly acceptable.

deckscurriers are kits, annd are the pride and joy of the clan. they don’t do much, but attack at kit, and most would never forgive you.

wardens are the mothers of the clan, whether they are expecting kits, or are taking care of their own kits. they go back to their original job when their kits become a cabinwasher. there are no permanent wardens.

timeline
the pirates have been a group for over a year now.

moon one; maple runs off with teadrip, and they form the pirates. a few days later, they find squashpaw aboard.

moon two; the three try and make a normal life, but squashpaw and maple misses their family. maple and teadrip become mates.

moon three: maple finds out she’s expecting — though she doesn’t tell anyone. she’s only been mates with teadrip for a moon.

moon four: teadrip finds out that maple is expecting, and takes the news very well. squashpaw is basically on the sidelines at this point.

moon five: azi is born, and he is doted on by everyone in the clan [though there are only three cats at this point].

moon six: squashpaw finds lobstar asleep on the beach. as part of his code is to protect kits, he picks her up and brings her back to the pirate’s ship. azi and lobstar become friends quick.

moon seven: squashpaw becomes sort of a big brother to lobstar and azi, often watching azi for maple and teadrip. chipper comes in and attacks azi [for no reason, according to the pirates], squashpaw slashes him down his eye, giving chipper a scar for life. chipper runs into the ship, not knowing that it’s the pirate’s home.

moon eight: chipper is found, and very reluctantly accepted into the clan, as it will be over a moon before they land again. lobstar doesn’t like him, and neither does squashpaw. but azi quickly forgives him.

moon nine: pretty normal, though tensions are high between the adults.

moon ten: again, pretty normal, though they finally land and hunt. they aren’t that good at hunting when together.

moon eleven: ripples joins the clan, and the cats are fond of her sweet personality.

moon 12: the cats meet jennny, a nice cat who takes a liking to chipper.

moon 13; melissa joins the group, though warns of another nomadic group in the area and they leave in a rush.
