Sigma has always been known as a bit of a picky man, he's never been quite too lenient with things throughout his life (mostly his younger days). Having the upbringing he had, most of his interests revolved around his family's. Growing up, his interests and disinterests have become more diverse. Knowing what he truly likes and dislikes, and becoming less uptight about such things.
Just like how he's come to term with the fact that, he will never truly like quince-
What was he ever thinking when he tried to get himself to like it, it was one of his father's favorite fruits. Yes. He used to believe it'd make him as strong as his dad, and he was quite determined he would like it and be just like him.
Doesn't mean it's Hade's favorite fruit though, even if it tastes as if it would be. Nor did he have to like it...Right?
Anyway.. it's not as troubling as mazes are. At the end of the months when the colors on the leaves outside, and inside the city, would change. There was a festival held, most the time couples would go to it. Or there were challenges held, being such a great strategist. One would almost instinctively think that he would figure his way out in no time-
Think again, Sigma was never one for mazes. He'd wind up as lost as a fish in a tree. No reason or Keldine would ever be able to coax him into going to one, or even the festival.
But don't pity him, it'd rile him up maybe even more than the idea of a maze itself. Something he could almost say he despises it, were it to have a physical form. He would've challenged it many seasons ago.
As to why he dislikes the idea of it, that's for the future to tell. It reminds him of the familiar smell of fire, of things burnt that shouldn't be.
But rather should mostly remain in the kitchen, or at a pit. Where it's best used, at least in his opinion. Though it isn't well known, Sigma has a passion for cooking like his late mother did. Often cooking in private, as well as snagging a few treats when he can. Such as: candied peaches. The one's that cooked just right of course.
Dusk...That's when camp was set. Or the main time frame of when the soldiers return, back to their homes, back to Tauris. Where dusk was also when certain candied sweets and pies would also be wafting in the air, normally being cooked and served around or made for the next day. Man did he love Tauris, he couldn't imagine a place any better..Maybe he could. Sigma may not always be there, having many duties to attend to and constantly being out.
But he would give up his love for books if he had to in order to keep Tauris safe.

King of cold shoulders, yet charming smolders. One would think Sigma was a moving Greek statue himself.
"He puts on a smile full of determination first thing in the morning"; others say. "He's so stern and uptight," another bout will whisper. Sigma is a puzzling man at times, having not the hardest nor easiest of an upbringing. He can give a person mixed signals. With a mood that can go from one of the most upbringing types of company, to the feeling of eggshells underneath one's paw. It'd make one shudder even thinking about the icy looks another soul could give.
Sigma has the temperament of both his parents though, his father's shines through just a tad more it seems. His stubborn pride, often getting in the way. Or his eagerness to keep things balanced, although he, himself is the one of the last things that's in order.
His desires, drive, and own personal emotions towards things in life (could be anything), cause him to be at war with himself most days. A battle of internal conflict of the mind. The young Keldine may act bossy, and quite sure of himself and every step he takes. But the confident acting being has just as many insecurities and worries that anyone else has, Sigma's just a lot more defiant when it comes to letting others in.
As I said though, he has the personality of both his parents. Having such a loving mother when he was younger, it helped him keep himself together during his worst moments. Getting her determination, and patience. Didn't mean it kept his ego down though, not being able to admit it. He can have a bit of a big head, someone being vain may be one of his biggest pet peeves. It doesn't mean he isn't vain himself.
A bit of a pushover or a little much it sounds, right?
Sigma's high confidence in himself is what motivates him, not quite using it to belittle other's around him. More self righteous way of motivating himself to keep going, admiring what he has in life and not losing track of it. It's what keeps him from forgetting his morals and beliefs, and though he may come off cocky and high flying. He tries to use it to motivate others, ignorant to the way other's receive/take it.
It can make him a bit defensive when it gets taken poorly, his stubborn and cocky attitude not settling with having his words twisted. Can get him in a bit of fights, making it a bit difficult for him to get close to others in the first place.
When Sigma allows himself to really connect with another person, he tends to get a little possessive and insecure. Making him jealous around them, and hard to handle sometimes. He tries to restrain himself from acting out but doesn't quite understand boundaries. Not having been the closest to many other keldines in his life, nor his closest family members.
Often times he feels quite isolated, but unwilling to let it show. He reverts back to his consistent facade, almost using it as a safety net when he's unsure of how to feel. And quickly averts himself from letting his mind wander on his emotions too much, by chasing after his ambitions. Being an ambitious man with high hopes and goals, sometimes it seems too high of dreams.... till you get a golden letter in the mail.

When Sigma was a young pup, his parents were quite different from one another. His mother was very calm, gentle, and sweet. She gave off such soft welcoming vibes, that many keldines couldn't help but just smile whenever they saw her on the streets.
When it came to his father, that was a different story. He was a very proud keldine, very ambitious as well. One of the traits that he had passed down to Sigma, his father was the Stratigos, what would be considered a general in ranking. He had quite high expectations for his son, Sigma was almost never home due to it. Constantly out training with his father, or hanging out with the soldiers.
Whenever the sun would switch places with the moon, his mother was in the kitchen making them all supper. Having such a pedigree, he didn't have much worry about his next meal. Most of his focus was on his rank, and bettering himself. When he'd return home though, his mother would have him cook with her. Teaching him all sorts of different recipes she knew, telling him he "needed to be equipped to be there for his future lover when they're not able to be there for themselves or him."
It was larger than a legion of lessons it felt, more than he could give her the gratitude for teaching him when he had the chance to learn. When he was around the age of 13 she had passed, his home city had been invaded and his house had caught fire. He had made it a little too late and lost his mother that day. Ever since then he's dealt with the constant flinch every time his eyes are greeted with large fires.
It only boosted his ambition to better himself and those around him.
Being such a high rank and having to lead, it was something he couldn't let take power over him. It would be the one thing he hesitated with and that'd be the reason he lost more lives in his life, not as if it hasn't happened again. Being such a rank, you gain and lose a few. And you must continue to honor those that have fallen.
Sigma didn't get the rank on his own, being the age he is. When he started to prove to his father that he had plenty of potential, the older keldine took it upon himself to sneak Sigma into higher positions, bribe certain people to back down. All while Sigma had thought he was doing everything on his own, he still doesn't know the full extent of what his father had done to get him there behind the scenes. But when he had discovered his father's secrets, and realized there wasn't any good way out without the potential of death. Sigma decided he would become the next demi mortal and erase the evil doings his father committed against him and the family name. He didn't want to disappoint his mother either, he knew he heart would be broken if she knew what was done.
Getting a little uncertain with the idea of becoming selected for the next demi mortal when it all truly hit him, what bad was done. He was surprised when returning back from a victorious battle, there was a golden letter. Small rose gold wings attached to each side. And the imprint of the gods as a seal, Sigma knew he was selected. This was a once in a lifetime chance, once in a blue moon would the gods host a sport between mortals. To decide which mortals would be crowned the winners and dubbed "Demi Mortal," to become a higher being. To held demi gods and gods keep the mortals safe, fend them from creatures that only gods should deal with. And keep Hades at bay.
The Demi Mortals are considered half mortal, when they win it's said a given god will grant them a shroud of their power as protection against what they will come to face. They are unable to side with any wars, or anything too mortal. As it could divert their sense of direction and loyalty.
He wouldn't have to deal with his rank anymore, all those silly wars. Sigma wouldn't have to deal with is father...
Getting a sense of enjoyment and a surge of self empowerment, being able to break free of what felt like a curse that ran on for far too long. The young man had gotten his things together, setting out as the sun began to touch down.
The competition was hidden in the skies, and some in caves. Most participants were capable of flight, but other's were granted access through water or crystals.
Only a selected few throughout Greece were called to these championships, nine. It made it just seem almost unreal that he was selected, so many could've but he had been called. Sigma would almost swear it was his mother's doing sometimes.
He only got to see every participant the first night, a meeting with only one supervisor oddly enough. Or at least he had felt it strange, the supervisor's name had been Noctus. He was in charge of keeping the rules in check, but seemed to have been a bit lenient here and there. Or maybe there was too much going on for him to focus.
When he had finished going over rules and etc. It had gotten to the real deal, there may only be three winners.
The Adelva islands, the floating islands the gods made for the games.
It was time to participate. Time for things to really get moving.
All participants had been put under a spell of sleep for the night, each of them waking up in what seemed like random locations. Each location giving them some kind of benefit or a location to provide them with knowledge in something they lacked.
Participants were able to dropout whenever, there were many creatures the islands sported aside from the participating Keldines.
Sigma had thought that he had been given the luck of a dimwit, because he had awoken in the...marsh??
The area had been wet, lush, and there were trees that twisted in all sorts of manners. First thing he had thought was, 'move on.' There was no time to get used to the wetlands or the uncomfortable feeling of the vines from the trees around him, running along his wings.
Goal: You must remain in the game, you must not dropout, disqualify yourself, or die.
His first challenge was a Keldine who seemed to charm the earth around her, the pond seemed alive itself with the lilypad creatures that she whispered to.
Almost winning the first match, but the two were interrupted by a Minotaur in the match. Having to team up, when he finds out that ironically. Her name was Aries, and they were polar opposites. Not in a good way either, but being able to have a team of three at most seemed to be quite useful when it came to fighting the creatures of the islands.
Aries and Sigma had heard the ringing of bells two times within the first 4 days, almost a third when they had ran into a smaller dragoness like keldine. Her fur a pattern of white and greys, and her tails alive. She was trapped by a grass hydra in the forest of gold.
After they had recruited the newly saved friend, Xanadu. Sigma had began to feel for their new friend, one thing though. It was against the rules to fall for another contestant. Having to push aside his feelings, and each of them getting a little closer to winning. The band of three had all gotten closer, but it seemed the two girls had gotten closer in the way he wish he could wish Xanadu as well. One day tricking the two and acting as if he had left, he caught the two flirting with one another.
Fearing he would get left behind by the two, and becoming outraged and jealous. He ends up in a battle with Aries when Xanadu isn't looking.
The two getting caught at a later time by her and yelled at.
They split up, each taking their own way in the competition. Unknowing of what is to unfold.
