the school at first was not very welcoming, it was damp and in need of a personal touch.
in the beginning, i was scared being there alone at night, so i'd sleep outside and clean during the day.
once i was able to make a space for myself, it became home. i can't remember my family,
but my family now is the forest and its inhabitants. one distinct memory i have is waking up in the school
greenhouse to sunlight shining through one of the cracked windows. it was that morning i realized how lucky i was.

ideas

– ori lives in the forest in an abandoned school, with an attached facility with a star viewing dome and greenhouse
- incredibly reserved, smart, and quiet
- collects tiny shiny things and decorates her home with origami swans
- considers the forest her mother, learning handiwork from old books in the school basement.

origami's personality, likes and dislikes, and hobbies
shes very clever, learning how to cook and feed herself without getting sick,
and set up many plants that provide her with food in the greenhouse and among the abandoned school.
she likes to take care of plants, animals, and herself. (self care queen)
she loves strawberries and blueberries, dairy, baked potatoes, but hates asparagus, peppers and breads (most notably).
ori does a lot of crafts, keeping herself busy with paper folding and embroidery. she loves collecting stuff,
especially shiny things and herbs/food. she takes good care of her garden and treats it
like its her own child. she's become very masterful in the kitchen as a result.

origami, abandoned school caretaker


gami is an orphan, residing in the
rain forests of the pacific northwest. she spends her
days hunting and caring for the school in the woods,
and her nights are spent looking for herbs and
gathering other sorts of supplies, like jars
and discarded items that she sees as treasure.
a lot of the time gami keeps to herself, but
she is incredibly clever and wise.
she's got a bright personality, one that shines brighter
then the full moons reflection on the ocean.

the prettiest plants are in this schools
greenhouse, like pansies and daffodils,
but indeed there are roots and greens!
i could create a garden for food here,
with squash and berries!

i believe someone has broken into the school.
i was gone gathering morel mushrooms, and
arrived back to my greenhouse in disarray.
cupboards left open, things broken that
weren't broken before. nothing was stolen,
but i worry for my safety.

i've set up a warning system, and a few bells
and what not in front of the main doors
that still worked for the old school.
it was a hot spot for juveniles to trespass,
apparently. i'm learning to adapt.

any answers. the days go
by fast, but i feel not a
bit closer to finding anything
that can help me find the
history of this school.

shuffle shuffle

"aha!" gami exclaimed, pulling the dusty, old walk man out of the pile of junk. it sat in the basement gathering dust, and things added that gami felt didn't need to be sitting around upstairs laid on top, making anything at the bottom difficult to get to.
"i knew i saw you somewhere..." gami said to herself, examining the portable media player as she walked towards her bench, books and old, ruined magazines covering the surface. she moved some of the papers to reveal a walkman instruction guide. thrilled, she got to work testing out her new toy.

the next day

thumb hovering over the play button, gami nervously adjusted the volume one last time before clicking it.
