astrophel and astraea are capable of reading minds, but only between each other. this often causes a lot of confusion with other kalons because they only see the twins staring deeply into each other's eyes. for those who are around them a lot, they know this as a sign of danger and that they should run away. when the twins speak to each other in their minds, this usually means that they're coming up with a plan to prank someone.
the two siblings are the oldest in an orphanage where they reside, and they're basically the caretakers for the other orphans. of course, there are adult kalons that care for the children. but they connect with the younger ones on a deeper level, and they have a better understanding of trust.

has pain, so astrophel recognizes this. he wants to get rid of this pain one
way or another, but he's afraid to because he's still young and small. he
