hi! I hope this is allowed, the regular forum post wouldn’t work for what I have planned. This is a choose your own adventure, meaning you control the story with your choices. Most of this is dialogue, though, and finding out as much as possible about this mysterious Viscet. Are you ready?

No, I don’t want to read this.

Yeah, let’s go!

Finally, a night to relax!
You’re excited, and rightfully so. It’s the first time in a long time you get to sit down and just laze around. You’ve got a fire going, hot cocoa prepared, and your new book is on your coffee table. Things are looking up.
You’re just settling in when you hear a knock at the door- frowning, you remember that your cousin was supposed to send you a package. This must be it.

Get up and receive the package.

Pretend not to be home.

You ignore the knock and settle back down into your blankets, despite the knocking getting more persistent. Just act like you’re not home. How much longer will the knocking go on for?
Finally, when you’re just about to get up, the knocker calls to you through the door. “Hey, I know you’re home. You have a fire going. Come on, this is important.” You don’t recognize the speaker’s voice, but they must be clever.

Answer the door.

Continue ignoring them.

With a sigh, you get up and open the door.
Looking excited is a tall Viscet with goat ears and a purple mane, and beside her is a red and black Viscet who looks uncomfortable.
You begin to speak, but the first Viscet cuts you off.
“Hi, my name is Emithista, but everyone calls me Emi. I’m a messenger. This is Sonder, but he’s just here to learn social skills. From me. Anyways, I have two things for you. A package, and a question. Which one do you want first?”
You’re a bit taken aback by this ‘cets hyperactive speech, but you’re interested.

I want the package first.

Let’s get the question out of the way.

”Package, yes...” Emi turns her attention to her oversized messenger bag, and after some careful searching, pulls out a small brown box. “Here you are. It doesn’t say who it’s from.”
You take the box, curiosity peaked. You’ll open it later, after this ‘question’.
Emi looks at Sonder now. “It’s your turn to talk.” She says. “Tell her how we got the box.”
Sonder gives her the stink eye. “It’s just something we found in the mail, from a few years ago. There’s nothing extremely special about it. I’m really sorry to bother you.”
Emi frowns at him. “Well, he’s right, I guess.”
You nod apologetically at Sonder.
“Next, next, the question!” Emi claps her paws excitedly.
Sonder grimaces and looks down at the ground.
“So, so so so so so. I want to do some sort of hobby, and I need your help. Not just you, a few people. Anyways. Based on what you know about me, do you think I should try art or music?

Art for sure.

You seem more musical.

“Ooh, the question!” Emi claps her paws excitedly.
Sonder grimaces and looks down at the ground.
“So, so so so so so. I want to do some sort of hobby, and I need your help. Not just you, a few people. Anyways. Based on what you know about me, do you think I should try art or music?”
You blink. You hardly know anything about this Viscet. “Give me a minute to think about it.” You say.
“Alrighty. Here, take the package while you’re waiting!”

You give another thought to the question, and now it seems you have the answer. “Hey Emi,” you start.

I think you’d be best at art.

You seem more like a music person.

”Art you say? Nice, nice. I was leaning towards art myself. What do you think,Sonder? A trip to the art store before we go out separate ways?” Emi grins.
“Sure.” Sonder shrugs. “I guess art would be cool.”
Emi looks back at you. “Then it’s settled!” She takes your paw and shakes it. “I’ll do art. Thank you, stranger, for helping me settle my life’s debate.”
You’re confused. “Didn’t you say you were going to ask several people?”
Emi widens her eyes. “Uh, yeah, I’ve uh, already asked them.”
You’ve caught her off guard. She’s hiding something.
“Well, goodbye, kind stranger!” Emi waves asshe pulls Sonder with her back into the street. Sonder just smiles and glances at the package. You watch them walk down the street, your mind spinning.

Go back in and open the package.

Put the package aside and go relax.

”Music is a great choice. Oh, but what instrument? I think flute would be lovely, don’t you, Sonder?”
Sonder just nods, still giving her a dissaproving look.
“So, we stop by the music shop, buy a flute. Easy. This will be fun! Thank you so much, kind stranger, for settling my dilemma. Your cooperation is appreciated.” She gives you a little bow.
You’re confused. “Didn’t you say you were going to ask several people?”
Emi widens her eyes. “Uh, yeah, I’ve uh, already asked them.”
You’ve caught her off guard. She’s hiding something.
“Well, goodbye, kind stranger!” Emi waves as she pulls Sonder with her back into the street. Sonder just smiles and glances at the package. You watch them walk down the street, your mind spinning.

Go inside and see what’s in the package.

Forget about the package and go back to your book.

You go back inside, your eyes fixed on the package. You sit back down on the couch, and carefully you tear open the package. Inside is a business card and a note;

Hi there!
If you’re receiving this package, it means you just got pranked. Sorry about that.
Myself, Emithista, and my good friend Sonder, whom I’m confident you just met, used your social interaction as practice for our improv show we want to start up. We hope our interaction seemed believable, we wanted to seem abnormal while still blending in. And yes, just for the record, I am really always that hyper. Not much character change there.
So maybe if you liked us, come to our show! If not, that’s chill. Thanks for letting us practice with you!

You set both slips of paper down with a chuckle. That explains why you caught her off guard.
The improv show looks nice based on what the card shows. Maybe you’ll check it out?

You go back inside, dropping the package on the table. You’ll open it later, when you feel like it. For now it’s time to get back to what matters; relaxation. You pick your book back up as you settle on the couch, and you can’t help but wonder why a Viscet would ask a stranger about their life choices. Emi certainly was a strange messenger. Perhaps there was more to her than you could see...
