luscina it's so sweet of you to adopt out your kals
good luck to you wherever you go!

i really love this guy's name so i'll keep it (if that's okay?)
"ani!" he was five, sitting in his dining chair, arms crossed
and face stone-set in a pout. the frilled collar of his shirt,
once white, now dripped with deep red juice. his mother
rushed over from her end of the table, taking his clenched
fist in her paw with a firm grip. "come on, ani, let's get you
changed." he hadn't wanted that flavor of juice.

age twelve, anatoli often sat in his father's office. the dark
wood furniture was neatly polished, spotless, and the linens
were always wrinkle free to show off their beautiful, intricate
designs. his father sat in a dark leather chair behind his desk
and anatoli, dressed in his fine clothes, lounged on his favored
gold velvet chaise longue to lazily observe his father talking to
another important man. until he got bored, that is. "hurry it up,
windbag," he'd huff at the guest. anatoli's father, embarrassed,
would apologize and shoot his son a stern look, but ani always
simply shrugged it off.

sixteen saw different obstacles. the young man was very callous,
rebellious and haughty. though smart, anatoli opted to put his
growing mind to work getting into trouble and misleading the
authorities. and he had a good run, too, until his parents decided
that enough was enough—by seventeen, he was on his way to a
military-like school to learn discipline and respect. he cursed them
the whole first year.

young anatoli gradually grew into a fine man, though. he learned how
to use his nobility for good rather than for selfish desires. wielding a
sword became second knowledge to him, and haughtiness was balanced
with chivalry. at age twenty-three ani pledged himself to knighthood.
not only that, but he'd gained an appreciation for art and architecture
in his years at the academy.

in his off-time, anatoli paints. grand strands of gold weave through dark
blues and purples in his paintings; it's his nobility and ego that he can't
seem to shed, but that he keeps in check now as an adult. "your father
would be so proud, my little boy," his mother says to him, cupping his
face in her now frail paws and looking up at him with the love only a
mother can replicate. and she turns to gaze at the framed painting on
the wall of her bedroom— a pink sky over misty green field, golden rays
climbing up the canvas to warm the room.

sunrise. bright heavenly bodies, still pocking the height of the sky
overhead, flicker tiredly as the pink horizon gently spreads up, up.
hues of orange bloom here too; golden rays mix with rosy blush in
a beautiful artistic display. the world in her purest state. breath—
taking, young, an endless potential for greatness held within the
palm of just a hew hours' span.

this is what anatoli was named for—a bright day ahead, a wondrous
future. his parents, young but hopeful first timers, saw their little
boy as the first ray of sunshine in the dawn of their new life. so he,
from birth, had more than just shoes to fill. they expected golden
slippers; what would they get from their precious young son?

I have tried many times in recent to become active again, but it has been difficult to find that imaginative and childish spark I once had visiting this site. i wish everyone well and hope that you find fruitfulness on and off of CS <3 thank you for the wonderful 11 years, ciao!

I Remember that night;
you were wrapped up in my coat,
whispering your last prayers,
like a poem that you wrote.

The days have been wandering
through the hallways
where we met.
You're lost in time, and
I'm lost inside my head,
inside my head.

Later on you told me,
it had always
been your plan.
To lose it all that night,
to crush the petals
in your hands,

In time I'll find a way,
to taste the lies and
hunt your cold lips,
You vowed you'd try
to stay a ghost
inside my heart,
inside my heart...

Dorothy Mora Raegan "Tides" cis female connections: x x x

⋙ ⌘ ⋘ "not all those who wander are lost" ⋙ ⌘ ⋘

Tides has always been a nomad, whether it was for work or play.

By trade, she is a wildlife photographer and investigative journalist, travelling the world with her Lisqar horse companion to capture images of the rarest and most endangered species she can find, in the hopes of promoting awareness and encouraging conservation. She's burned through passports like firewood in the arctic, hopping to a new country almost every month. She travels so much, in fact, that she doesn't even have an actual home back stateside; she might come home for maybe a month every other year, usually for Thanksgiving and Christmas, before she's off to a new destination. Her only active family consists of her half-brother Dipper and his young daughter Bora, with whom she has a dedicated guest room that she stays in when Tides is visiting. She's currently estranged from her mother, the parent she and Dipper share, and never knew her father. And to be quite honest, she is more than happy to keep her circle small.

Besides, all the travelling often helps her forget her loneliness.

Image

⋙ ⌘ ⋘ "I used all of my wishes on you, and still you slipped through my fingers like sand..." ⋙ ⌘ ⋘

When she was young, she fell in love. Tides was always prone to being cliche, but she couldn't help it; the young Kalon's coping mechanism was to romanticize everything as a way to bolster her hope and self-confidence. Though she was naturally beautiful and well-liked by most everyone, she suffered an extreme issue with her own self image, often disassociating with reality and daydreaming instead, weaving fantastical stories in her mind that seemed way too real to be healthy.

Until she met Jason.

The moment he took her hand for the first time, swinging her into a large arc and pulling her close to his chest, she was instantly smitten. She was only a freshman in high school and he was a sophomore, but he'd been instantly taken by her beauty and shy personality, and the male Kalon begged for weeks to have her as his girlfriend; it took some time, but she eventually accepted, and they became the star couple in high school: hopelessly devoted, always nearby to each other, no secrets or barriers held... They were perfect. It was even in Jason's plan to propose to her at their graduation, and he'd already planned it all out. Though all of the adults tried their best to talk them out of it or provide words of warning, both Kalons knew that they were each others' destiny, and wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of their lives together. Even when others tempted their faithfulness, or issues with their parents or friends arose, they remained true and always knew they could run to each other, even if they had no one left.

During their first summer together, the two young Kalons ran off together; they drove six long hours to the Pacific Ocean, rented a motel room in cash and spent the weekend at the beach, lying on the sand. It was their little paradise, a place only they knew. While Jason had lived on the beach previously, he was shocked to learn that Dorothy had never seen the ocean, and loved how absolutely infatuated she was with the sand, the surf, and the smell of the ocean. He watched her play in the waves for the first time and joined her shortly after, where they splashed and romped and tired themselves out to near collapse; as they lay in the sand recovering, he started talking about their wedding, and how beautiful it would be right in that very spot, at sunset. That first summer he coined her the nickname "Tides", and it stuck. Later he would explain it as "the ebb and flow of her energy", as she went from shy to outgoing whenever she found something she was passionate about. When they returned home, they both vowed that the beach would be their yearly trip, and more if they could swing it.

In the middle of their junior year, Jason got injured during a track meet. He'd been on the Track and Swim Teams since his freshman year, and it was one of Tides' favorite past times to attend and cheer him on. It had been a freak accident at the time: he'd leapt over a particularly challenging hurdle, far in the lead of the other schools' competitors, but he'd landed wrong. She watched his leg snap and he hit the ground, screaming in pain. Everything from that moment on was a blur; the coaches called an ambulance and whisked him away while she struggled to follow. She found out where he was headed, grabbed his keys and took his car, all the while calling both his parents and her own to let them know what happened. When she got to the hospital, it was all she could do to not wear a whole in the floor as she paced. Her parents tried to console her but she was too panicked, worrying about her boyfriend and wondering what was going on behind closed doors.

It was almost twelve hours later that she was pulled in to the room to be with him and her future in laws, who adored her. They learned that he'd been diagnosed with skeletal neoplasm, or bone cancer, that had slipped under the radar of his last physical examination, and over the past year had began to cause osteoporosis. It had been just a fluke that he'd landed the way he did and shattered his leg, but looking at how aggressively it was advancing, the doctors prognosis was very, very bleak.

Much to her parents' chagrin, Tides dropped out of school to become his full-time caretaker. Jason's parents worked as much as they could to pay for his treatments, everything from chemo to therapies to the broken leg that just wouldn't heal; they were rarely home, switching between two and three jobs each struggling to keep up with the bills. Tides became his psuedo nurse, feeding and bathing him, helping set appointments under the guise and direction of his parents, driving him back and forth to appointments and visits and wherever else he needed to go, while also using her own savings to take him to movies, small lunches, whatever she could afford to lift his spirits and make him feel better, even as his health continued to spiral downwards. Two years of intensive therapies did nothing to help his illness, and Jason eventually passed peacefully in his home, with both Tides and his parents by his side. Stricken with grief, she bid his parents goodbye and tried to return home, only to find two angry Kalons staring out at her. Her father said nothing, only stared with aggression, while her mother held out one single key: It was to a storage unit on the other side of town. She was eighteen now, and upset with how "she'd ruined her life dropping out for some boy" without knowing the full story, they'd kicked her out, and wanted nothing to do with her. Thankfully his parents allowed her to stay with them over the holidays, so they could be each others' support.

It was right at Christmas when they sat together under the tree, reminiscing and remembering their missing member fondly. Suddenly Jason's mother pulled out a box that was marked to Tides, from Jason; inside was the most beautiful professional photography camera that she'd ever seen. Inscribed on the lens cap was their initials in a heart, and hanging from the neckstrap was a gorgeous sapphire ring. Tides burst into tears, clutching the camera and sobbing hysterically. He'd known she had always wanted to be a photographer, and even in his absence, he wanted nothing more than to encourage her to chase her dreams.

So, despite everything, she started running.

Lucyna is a photographer, but not just any type of photographer. She captures the beauty of people and their everyday antics. For this particular collage, it shows that she believes that people's hands are very important. Hands are things that create and destroy, things that nurture and crush, things that are capable of good or bad.

Her hand is the one holding the camera on the green backdrop.

Trying out for: Dover
New name: Cloris Agni
Meaning: Green Fire
Gender: Male
Theme song: (though cliche) Tia Tamera by Doja Cat
Favorite Color: Rose Gold
Favorite clothes: Sparkles and too loose outfits that would probably embarrass your grandmother.
Words to describe him: Flirty, extravagant, no filter, excitable
Moodboard similar to them- xxx
zzz
Personality:

A sparky little guy, that's how Cloris can be described. A flirt even! Always bouncing around like the excited side-kick in a movie, hair maintained like it's in a loreal ad, this Kalon definitely prides himself in the way he looks and acts. He doesn't let anyone see anything other than what he wants- everyone wants to be friends with the funny one right? Well that's Cloris. A social little butterfly who's trap has no lock on it, constantly talking- and yet people never get sick of his yapping.

Possibly it's his looks (because everyone would agree a pretty little boy could talk all they want and no one would care to stop him). Or possibly it's his humor!

Ask anyone and they'll have a different answer, he's friends with everyone (well almost), it's safe to say that there's also the 'go too far' side of him, pushing that line too far, acting too sarcastic, too bratty and you'll make some enemies. There is no gray area, you hate him or you like him. Just gotta watch out not to be on his bad side- because despite his funny and bouncy demeanor there are claws behind all that hair and fur.

Au- most likely a high school au or a really rad monster au (those are always fun I love monsters)

Kalon: Dolores

First Name: Alouette
First Name Origin: French
First Name Meaning: Lark

Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight

Image

Background:
In her youth, Alouette was a singer. Everywhere she went, music just seemed to pour out of her lips. Thankfully, her voice was pretty, so most of the townsfolk didn't mind her.

Of course, they found her to be a bit odd. After all, what sort of teen strikes off on her own, away from her family, and takes residence in a place where she knows no one? She endeared herself to everyone quite quickly, yes, but that didn't stop them from questioning why she would leave.

It was a year or two after Alouette's arrival that the town suffered a tragedy. A drought struck the farming town, successfully ruining many harvests as well as leaving every Kalon struggling to get enough water to drink. Panic had yet to ensue, but it was on the horizons. No one had any clue that the drought was incoming, and everyone was concerned about when it would end.

That was when the Rainman came.

At least, that's what the Kalon called himself. No one ever found out for sure who he was or what his real name was. When he came rolling into town, he quickly found every resident to be on the verge of despair. It seemed hopeless; there wasn't a single cloud in the sky for miles. The townsfolk needed a miracle...and the Rainman claimed he could provide it.

He insisted that, after a day of commune with his patron god, he would be able to tell the town what was causing the drought. Though most of the townsfolk were not particularly religious, nothing else had worked, so they decided that they might as well try whatever solution he provided. The Rainman grinned at their words and nodded sagely, insisting that he would have the solution to the problem the next day. During his day of commune, the mysterious traveler had encounter Alouette, who had been singing in the town. He had made an unwelcome romantic gesture, one that Alouette gently but firmly rejected, and when he kept pushing, Alouette told him to leave her alone. Having never failed to get his way before, the Rainman determined that he knew how to get what he wanted.

The next day, the townsfolk approached the Rainman again, including Alouette, though she and a select few were particularly skeptical of him. They begged him to tell them what they should do to end the drought. And so he did.

"My friends," he announced mournfully, and Alouette was shocked to see so many buy into his words already. He had known them for a day, barely speaking to anyone in the town, and yet he called them his friends? It was bizarre, "I have spoken with my god, and have received a most dreadful answer. There is a demon among you."

That sent the crowd into a frenzy. A demon? A demon was among them? Who? Who lived beside them, pretending to be their friend as they caused the drought that was slowly but surely going to kill the whole town? They would make this demon pay.

"A demon has taken residence inside one of you," the Rainman clarified, "using said victim as a host for their own wicked deeds. So innocent and sweet that no one would ever expect a thing." He paused for effect, and Alouette found herself hanging on his words alongside everyone else. "Yet they have been using this poor Kalon's voice for evil, in secret casting a curse upon the town with their silver tongue. So secret were they in this intent, that no one noticed them cursing the town right in front of them; they were hidden in plain sight. The demon had used their host to hide, and intended to feast upon the souls of the other townsfolk when the drought had killed them all."

"What can we do?" Someone else questioned, the crowd murmuring the same question.

The Rainman sighed, hanging his head. "That is, I'm afraid, the worst part of this all. You see, the demon was able to select their host because they were unwitting; they had no way of knowing a demon was slinking about. Thankfully, once the demon is expelled, they will not be able to latch onto another host here, as you all will now know one is around. However..." he trailed off, taking a deep breath before finishing, "the demon's curse can only be removed if the demon is expelled, and we have no way to force it out. In order to get rid of it and the curse, the demon must choose to expel itself. The only way it will do that is if we get rid of its method for strengthening its curse: the host's vocal cords."

"But who?" Hushed whispers broke out as someone else spoke up. "Who has the demon selected as their host?"

"I am afraid...it is Alouette."

You could have heard a pin drop in that crowd as the Rainman fixed his eyes on her. Alouette was frozen; what was she meant to do? "I'm no host to a demon!" She protested, anxiously glancing at the townsfolk as they all fixed their eyes on her.

But the Rainman had set the masses in motion, and they all began to speak. "But the host is unwitting. In fact, they're probably unwilling."

"She uses her voice so often!"

"Her singing was a curse?"

"You wouldn't know a demon was inside you."

"That's the demon talking!"

"We have to end the drought!"

All of the crowd was so focused on Alouette that they all missed the smug smirk that wiggled its way onto the Rainman's face. Alouette, however, saw the look, and her heart dropped as she realized what he had done. He had chosen her because she rejected him. This was meant to punish her.

"No, he's wrong!" She shrieked, trying to pull away, but the Rainman had been clever in his trap; no one would believe her attempts to deny his claims, because she didn't know she was the host.

The townsfolk-turned-mob pounced on her, pulling her to the front and shoving her in front of her accuser.

"No, stop!"

"She's unwilling. You will have to hold her down," the Rainman ordered, and despite Alouette's thrashing as she tried to escape, they managed to pin her to the ground as the Rainman fetched a vial.

Pulling open the cork, he mercilessly poured the contents down her throat. It burned. Tears poured down her cheeks as Alouette began to scream, but they still did not let her up. They did not release her till every last drop had been poured out and gone down her throat.

It was only once they let her up that Alouette realized her mouth was wide, and she was screaming...but no sound exited her mouth.

The Rainman had stolen her voice. The one thing in the world that she loved.

Tears continued to pour down her cheeks as she tried to say something, anything, but when no sound continued to come out, her distress became palpable as she clawed at her throat till, finally, she collapsed to the ground. Finished and sobbing. No one had heard a thing.

As the hysterics faded, in a cruel stroke of irony clouds had come from overhead, and rain began to drizzle down on the citizens below. They were overjoyed, laughing and dancing and hollering. An impromptu party broke out, and everyone celebrated. Everyone except Alouette and the Rainman.

One Kalon turned, desperate to thank their apparent savior. "What can we ever do to repay you? You've saved us all!"

"Oh, I couldn't possibly take anything from you all," he said, but after very little insistence, he relented. "Alouette and I, we hit it off quite well yesterday. I would be honored to take her as my mate. I'm sure she feels the same way."

Of course she fiercely shook her head, but she had been doing so for ages, so no one paid it any mind. And though she opened her mouth to protest, she could not force any words out to stand up for herself. In a rational state, the townsfolk would have never agreed, but they were on such a high from the town being "saved" by the Rainman that they would've agreed to anything.

The plans were quickly thrown together. After all, the Rainman insisted they wouldn't need anything fancy. In a few short hours, Alouette was to be married to the man who had silenced her.

When some of the females escorted her to a room to change into a gown, Alouette saw her chance. They gave her privacy, waiting outside for her, but after locking the door, Alouette made her grand escape. Out through the window she went, landing in the yard and taking off. By the time they managed to open the door, concerned about how long Alouette was taking and unable to get her to respond nonverbally, she was long gone. The Rainman was furious.

But Alouette? Alouette was free.

Free, and yet entrapped in a totally different way. The one thing Alouette had cherished most had been ripped from her. She could no longer sing, no longer talk of all the things she was seeing and feeling and hearing. Her communication had been completely cut. And yet, Alouette couldn't bring herself to even imagine speaking with another again. Not after what had happened. They'd all turned so quickly, hadn't even checked to make sure she truly did agree. They'd all trusted the Rainman and hailed him as their savior.

It made her sick.

Now, Alouette wanders, never able to dwell somewhere too long. The idea frightens her; no matter where she goes, she is constantly looking over her shoulder, afraid the true demon will have found her again. She's close with no one, but she is okay with that, even though deep down she knows that's a lie. But after what happened, Alouette's trust has been broken, perhaps even permanently. Every night, she dreams of words and songs and speeches.

Every day, she wakes in tears.

personality:
Lillian is a kind hearted Dreamer who has a sweet smile
And a vast imagination. She loves to read books about far away places, adventures, and Mysteries.

Her number rules to follow in life is to be true to yourself and follow you heart.

She can be quite bubbly and friendly and has a sweet giggle
And enjoys playing video games and listening to music.

Though she enjoys spending time with others she does think it's important to always take a day or a moment for yourself
And to never push yourself past your comfort zone.

Overall Lillian is just a king girl who can't wait to take on the world

short story:
Lillian ran as fast as her four legs could carry her with her small red bag dragging desperately behind her as she race for the subway train that was about to pull out of the station.

It was bad enough that she slept long then she intended to, but now she was going to be late for her book club!

Scurrying past the doors, she let out an exhausted sigh as she sat down and pulled out a small book from her bag.

Since she had to wait until the next stop, she decided to take hold of the opportunity to finish the last chapter of her story before the club started.

Letting out a loud gasp Lillian slammed the book before jumping to her feet "I grabbed the wrong book!" shoving the book into her bag Lillian raced towards the doors anxious to be the first out. Out of all the goofy things she's done, how could she grabbed the wrong book it was right next to her nightstand!

Once the subway train came to a stop Lillian bolted out and began to rush faster than she had this morning. She had to get home and get the right book then race back to her book club before it started. With a feeling of doubt in her mind Lillian pushed herself harder until she found herself gasping for breath outside her house.

Lifting her head, she pushed herself up and rushed inside placing the wrong book on the kitchen counter before rush into her room and grabbing the correct book and place it in her bag. "Ok Lillian you can do this, you still have enough time to get there if you run"

Once again Lillian rushed out her door with her bag dragging behind her as she ran down the street with her phone in paw to find the fastest route to her club. It was true she had never really walked there from her house, so she wasn't exactly sure how to get there but as long as she had her phone what could go wrong. Suddenly her phone let out a small Flickr before the screen when black. "It died! No no no no"

Glancing desperately from side to side, she finally saw a small convenience store in the distance rushing inside she quickly scanned the aisles until she found the right battery.
After a quick purchase, she quickly changed to the new battery and reopened her map and continued on her quest.

And finally, what felt like a life time and with one last gasping breath, she made it. Placing her paw on the door she suddenly received a text from the club counselor. Wiping a small bit of sweat from her brow, she clicked to read the text before entering the building.

"Hay Lillian totally forgot to tell you the club got canceled today as a lot of the members got sick so don't bother coming today. See you next week."
