It is an unsettling place littered with bones of varying sizes. The Blood Lake District is a swamp-like area that is an active economic hub for Kalons inhabiting the Tundra. The floating lake town is built with black lumber sourced from the spiky black trees that are native to the biome. Other plants include various fruit and berries that thrive in the frost. The beaches of the Blood Lake have black sand and stark white, bony shells. Although the temperature of the lake's contents are numbingly frigid, it is never frozen over solid. The sparse fauna consists of scavenger birds, goats, rats and carnivorous fish. A large coal industry dominates the market here. (

Growing up in the Blood Tundra was no place for a young Kalon like Scarlet. Scarlet's formative years hardened her, with the harsh snowy environment and deadly Blood Lake being the cause of many fatalities. As time passed, she got used to hearing all kinds of bad news, and it stopped affecting her so much. The severe nature of the biome attracted many different types of extreme Kalons. Living in such a dangerous place, it was necessary to be weary of strangers and keep to herself. Not minding your own business or being in the wrong place at the wrong time could easily get any Kalon wandering the Tundra caught in a bad situation. This also lead her to be extremely quiet and adopt an element of stealth while traveling on foot. As a native, she blends in easily in the Tundra and does not attract attention with her appearance. This is a different story when she travels outside of her realm, and she is the recipient of strange looks from Kalons not used to seeing her combination of wispy white hair, dark pelt and striking red eyes and markings. Outsiders seem to avoid her, and they make remarks about her eerie or sinister energy. The freezing red lake has a thick consistency and claims tens of victims each year. Don't fall in, because the Kalons of the Tundra will leave you to drown. In order to survive, Scarlet was taught to swim as soon she was old enough to learn, starting on the lake's shallow beach. Becoming a strong swimmer is an indispensable skill that could save her life if she were to fall into the lake. Although she is not ignorant towards the reality of her home, she longs for a moment where she can lower her guard. Her biggest desire is to make friends with another Kalon and together let their laughter echo through the Tundra. For now, she forms bonds with wayward ravens. She possesses an inner softness, and has a
favorite stuffed animal that she sleeps with every night.

In the Tundra, there aren't many choices for hobbies. Scarlet took piano lessons at the town's chapel, and was currently working on learning a Beethoven piece. Scarlet loved the sound of music, and how it broke the silence in the valley and filled it elegantly, when the only other noise was the cutting winds that howled through the town. Although, when she walked through the shadowy woods, she enjoyed the sounds of nature, snow crunching under her paws, creaking old branches overhead, and flapping wings as the birds noticed her tracing the path home. At home, she would read anything to pass time, novels, botanical guides, cookbooks. The dusty old bookkeeper that maintained the town library seemed surprised every time she returned for more. In the Tundra, most Kalons diets consisted of fish caught in the lake. She would eat seafood if she must, but she much preferred to forage for fruit, berries and the occasional edible fungi when she could. Her favorite recipe was warm, hearty and savory, a surprisingly tasty stew of fish, tomato and mushrooms. In the harsh arctic conditions, it was difficult to cultivate plant life, but she enjoyed trying to raise flowers if she found herself with an uncommon seed. Her favorite flower was the red spider lily, which was particularly hard to raise because of how rare sunlight was in the Tundra. Floriography intrigued her, and she found fascination in the corpse flower's morbid nickname. One day she wanted to see the colorful tropical flowers that decorated the pages of her books in person, although the bright sunshine, blue waves and yellow sands alongside them were unfamiliar.
