and from the ground--
sprouted a little yellow flower
a resilient little flower.
neverdie.
some miracle, it was.

maybe in the eyes of others, not so much.
an opinion-based situation, some could say

the most gorgeous shade of brown yellow
the prettiest pelt petals
the most perfect shade of green.
my leaves, however.
prickly and unlikable. sharp and dangerous.
if only they'd try to find out themselves

if there's one thing wrong, the whole me is ruined.

that's what they thought.
that's not what it would have been if they wanted to find out.
if they wanted to know the real me.

blown by the wind,
kicked up like a stone,
dug up like dirt.
unwanted, unnoticed.
i'm a weed, aren't i?
nobody cares how i feel, do they?
