The lunar & Solar Eclipse
Every 10 years the God and Goddesses of the Olympus happen to see a lunar or solar eclipse. The moment the moon or the sun gets covered by their counterpart is the only moment when the two sisters can see each other. Their Power is consumed by the other but Alectrona never felt like she was powerless in these moments.
Her Sister meant the world to her and she trusted her with every breath she took but the older they got the more they grew apart and the darkness in her sister started to overtake the light in her.
The endless pain of being alone turned her evil and Alectrona lost any hope to save her from the darkness.
After this she promised herself to save her...to bring her back and share her light.
"Distant moon, so big and bright
Softest silver glowing through the night
High atop, the mountain gold
Sun unseen, the world is cold"
In an attempt to save her sister from the rage that had build inside her, Alectrona offered to let go of her own powers. Her sister was too blind too see the destruction she brought to the world so the elders forced another punishment on the sisters.The Goddess of the sun was forced to rule over moon and sun at once, taking the rage of her sister only on herself.
Alectrona knew that this was the only way to safe her home and her sister from her own powers and so she agreed.
"Here I wait, and here I stand
Early morning northern hour hand
Studying, in solitude
Looking for, a hidden clue"
Thinking that her sister betrayed her, the old Goddess of the moon turned her gaze towards Alectrona who was now supposed to rule over the conflicted lights. Brokenhearted both of them looked at each other but while Alectrona mourned for her beloved sister she faced the fury of what was once known as the light in the darkness. Unable to reach her soul, the golden Kalon gave up upon what she once loved more than herself.
I wish, to see this world through my own eyes
To calm, the elders and silence their cries
Because, of you I now gaze up and sing
The lullaby of the moon
The burden on top of her shoulders crushed the young Goddess. She was trusted with so much power and yet she felt so alone. Every time she gazed up into the sky she felt nothingness creep into her bones. Her beloved sister never forgave her because she never understood that it was never Alectronas fault...
After years of loneliness the golden Goddess decided to change fate, to show the elder gods that her sister deserved a second chance but this time, with herself permanently on her side. That was the quest she brought upon herself and she wouldn't rest until she succeeded.
