I have been joining many virtual pet browser games recently. The interest started back in 2020 with Flight Rising then had a resurgence when I joined Chicken Smoothie this year. One thing led to another, and I have joined Pokefarm Q, Magistream, Eggcave, The Final Outpost, Gothicat World, and Xanje. I will not pick favorites since they are all wonderful games with their own appeal, but Xanje is definitely the most "involved" game. There is always something to do if you wish to be active on the website!
My favorite features are as follows:
Garden
You can grow fruits and veggies to feed your pets to level them up. As you grow more plants, you increase the level of your garden. This allows you to grow a wider variety of plants and unlock quality of life features such as the "plant all" and "harvest all" buttons.
Games
Some of these replicate popular app games you may have heard of or played. But my personal favorites are the Xanje-specific ones: Explorer and Stray Meadow. Explorer allows you to bring a pet with you and go on an expedition to click around and find pets or items. Stray meadow has items appearing on screen for you to click and collect. This includes berries, pets, butterflies, and autumn leaves. Autumn leaves and butterflies can be used to adopt pets in the shop.
Battlegrounds
It is much like Pokemon battles!
Adopting Pets
Xanje has a wide variety of ways to adopt pets. You can use coins (general currency), items, premium currency, or just find pets while scrolling through the website. I do really like that all but one of the pet shops take currency that is not premium. The only shop that you might need real money for adopting is Id's Specials Shop.
P E T S
This website has just about any creature you can imagine, and they come in a variety of patterns and colors. For example, here is the variety of cat patterns:
Not only that, but there are more patterns within the patterns! Here is a list of variants of the "White Cat". Some of these can only be acquired through breeding, which makes things all the more interesting:
And not only that, but every pet has its own unique colors as well. For example, here is the variety of "Tiger Rats" I have:
Hopefully this post has given you a good peek into Xanje. This is definitely one of the most fun pet games I have found so far because I never feel bored, or as if I am (impatiently) awaiting something to happen.
