THE PROBLEM

pet sites are, well, a dying breed. like streaming services killing cable, and dvd killing vhs, pet sites have been abandoned with the creation of things like discord, which have plenty of similar functions, and the perk of being more self contained. now, technological advancement is always great, but some people just want to harken back to forums, and by extension, pet websites. with the slowdown of eldermore, it seems like the only pet sites really left are neopets, chicken smoothie, and the dozens of free clickable adoptable websites which are essentially the same in different artstyles.

THE SOLUTION

well, why don't we just make more pet sites than?

how? not everyone knows how to code, and tess' old website list is extremely outdated. all the beginner friendly websites she's linked have shut down, so what are we meant to do?

THE (ACTUAL) SOLUTION

this is where this thread comes in! this thread is meant to keep a comprehensive and updated list of every active pet site creator, and will feature both beginner and advanced builders. hopefully with this, making your own pet site will be easier than it was prior!

here's a list of guidelines to keep the thread as easy to navigate as possible!

DO NOT MARK THIS THREAD. to you it might be convinent, and yeah, it is on a lot of threads, but not here. if you want to mark the thread, please make a regular post here or use the bookmark feature.

that being said, please dont add any nothing posts. posts that say things like "thank you for this list", "youre missing x site", or any post which adds to thread discussion are good examples of good posts. single word posts, posts with emoji spam, or posts which feature excessive obnoxious use of emojis or text speak (stuff like ur and shortened terms like afaik are alright, this mainly applies to leetspeak or any other typing quirk.) are considered nothing.

be polite to others! this guide is meant to aid mainly beginners or those who don't know webdesign.

DO NOT SUGGEST WEBSITES THAT HAVE YET TO COME OUT OR HAVE GONE DEFUNCT ! this thread will only include websites that are already available.

if a resource that you're suggesting costs money or is in some sort of testing stage, please specify this in your post!

while i personally wouldn't recommend proboards due to the fate of most i've seen, it's an extremly powerful tool for creating pet adoptable forums. when i was like 11-13 i actually used to just make a bunch of pet adoptable proboards because like... it was fun lol.

QUICK NOTICE

being these are advanced websites and the furthest my programming knowledge spans is some html i learned when i was 13 before swiftly forgetting, i have not used any of these websites, so I can't speak on their quality (or, maybe, lack thereof.) if you've used any these sites before (and i mean this for people who have experience with this kind of stuff, not "i tried it without a tutorial and gave up"), i'd love to hear what you think!
