Sagan 4 is a collaborative speculative evolution project which anyone can contribute to, including you! Sagan 4 accepts artists of all skill levels, as long as they can make species which follow the rules. Lurkers and fans, and people who just wanna chat about biology, are also welcome!
Sagan 4 started in 2006 when 5 friends, in the hype of seeing Spore at E3, decided to try and find a way to play it before it came out--and they did so using art. More people joined in, and eventually they had so much momentum that they just never stopped.
Over 100 artists with an interest in biology and creature design have been creating a myriad of creatures and plants to fill Sagan 4's ecosystems since 2006, and it has even spawned multiple side projects, though Sagan 4 Alpha remains the primary one.
