What was SWK?

No pet IDs or accounts really existed, I believe, so all pets were just image files with the 'www.chickensmoothie.com/somepet.png' type with a variant in number depending on the month, as the certification's written month changed.

What did it look like?

CS Help wrote:Interesting question! Not many people know about our Petz fansite past.
Back in around 2003 or 2004 I became a big fan of the old UbiSoft/P.F.Magic Petz games. I met Manda on a Petz fan forum. Her hobby was designing breeds for the Petz games, and she was very good at it. My hobby was making websites for people, but I didn't have much to put on my own Petz website. She didn't have a website for her Petz breeds and didn't know much about how to start one, so we decided to put our skills together. We ran Silent Wolf Kennelz together for a few years, as a Petz fan site, with various downloadable breeds, toys, clothes and petz files (mostly made by her).
As we grew older we both started to pick up other hobbies, and slowly we let SWK die off. I can't really remember the timeline, but I don't think either of us updated the site from around 2005 or 2006 onwards. In 2008 I decided to bring the site back to life. Manda and I had fallen out of touch by then, so I was reviving the site by myself. Although I was still hosting her files, Manda never had a part in creating the modern site we know as CS, which is why she's uncredited and mostly unheard of here.
SWK had always been hosted on an old webhost called Geocities as a free website. Because it was free, it had limits on how much data we could transfer. So basically, whenever people downloaded our petz files, we'd hit the hourly limit and the site would go down for a few hours, or days. By 2008 I was finally old enough to own a debit card, so I was able to pay for internet hosting and solve our free-host problems. I bought the domain name chickensmoothie.com because it was my nickname at the time, but the site was still named Silent Wolf Kennelz when I brought it back online.
Without putting much thought into it, I added some adoptables to the site to try and draw some more traffic to our grand re-opening. Those eventually became the CS pets we know today. After a few months of that it became clear to me that most our traffic only came for the adoptables and didn't know what Petz even was, and people were getting confused about the dual purpose of the site (we had "adoptables" (cs pets) and "adoptions" (petz files) so you can see how that would be confusing. The site also had the dual names Chicken Smoothie and SWK because of the domain name disparity) I got sick of explaining it to people so eventually I removed all our Petz content and officially renamed to Chicken Smoothie. I made another site to archive our old Petz stuff: http://www.petz-archive.com/
I can't remember exactly when, but at some point Manda found me on Facebook and we re-connected, which was really cool. She did return to the Petz Community, and was still active sometime last year, but I'm not sure how involved she is these days.
Last I heard of her Petz Community involvement, she was co-owner of this site:
http://gossipin.filthyhippie.net/index.php
Although that site seems to have fallen inactive, I know she is still alive and well
The Geocities version of our old site is a little weird. The real web host Geocities was shut down in 2009 and as I had changed email addresses I didn't get any warning to back up or remove the old SWK sites. Someone else not associated with Yahoo decided to restore old Geocities sites from archived files. Due to authentication problems I can't access those accounts. So the half-broken SWK pages on the internet are out of our control now, neither me nor Manda can edit or remove those. If you speak to Petz fans about SWK please show them our working archive site:
