It almost seems like an inevitability at this point that AJ is going to be hacked at least once a year. I just don't understand it, why are they wasting their time on a kids' game? What do they gain from this? This game is old and tired, there's hardly anything left of value anyway. I'll never understand it I guess, if I was a hacker I would spend my time on bigger, better things than messing with an old internet game. I dunno, maybe they've got some kind of vendetta against it? Maybe they used to play the game and something happened so now they feel like they need revenge.

I agree @Clock! Maybe something DID happen so they feel like taking revenge. (Example: a pet they never wanted in the game came out) I completely understand why people scam and hack, it's just so they can get rich or something. I don't want to get hacked so normally I just roleplay or trade for pets. Currently this thread is really confusing me, therefore I will try not to reply in discussions too much.

Many of you have asked about some erroneous account bans that were issued Monday night and rumors about an attack on Jambassador AJ accounts. A group of around 70 influencer and WildWorks employee Animal Jam accounts were attacked on Monday. The individual responsible was able to switch the parental email addresses for these accounts and temporarily gain control of them. Our system suspended the affected accounts for their protection, but inadvertently suspended some unaffected accounts as well.
We know which accounts were taken over, and we are restoring all of them to their rightful owners, along with all of the items they previously held. Also, accounts that were mistakenly suspended or banned during our response to the attack will have their access restored. No personal information of account owners was accessed in the attack, but a detailed digital forensics report is being submitted to our law enforcement partners in the U.S. and the criminal’s country of origin.
If you believe your account may have been mistakenly suspended Monday night, please report this directly to our support team (Linked Below), and include your username, your parent email address, and the last time you accessed your account. PLEASE DO NOT submit this information in comments or DMs here!
Player accounts are in no further danger from this attack, and we will be making announcements about some new security features soon for everyone’s protection. We’re very sorry for the stress attacks like this cause the player community, and we’re working nonstop to get the affected Jammers back in the game as quickly as possible.

So it sounds like the danger is over. I'm looking forward to seeing these "new security features" and hope that they'll actually be effective.

People hack for literally any reason. Like there was a big hack on Apex because someone was upset about how many hackers are on Titanfall due to lack of moderation. Someone could've been like scammed in AJ and their scammer got off without repressions so they hacked the game to "get back" at the aj mod team. There's always some reason behind hackers.

I don't get it either- but seeing that AJHQ might have some new security features seems a little... off as they really put their focus into their new game as opposed to the classic. I mean- I'm just making assumptions here- but *shrug* at least I can have a little hope, I guess.

I've always gone to the Worth Wiki to find out the worth of things. While not always up-to-date, it's generally fairly accurate and you'll always find people there who are honest and know what they're talking about.
