Lineage means nothing, trust me. This isn't like WAJAS where only 1-4gens are worth anything. In FA you can not create a custom dragon. All dragons come from the lines of the starters that everyone gets when they start playing.

And that depends, some would rather have a Basic, some love the extra traits. But the trait that is worth the most is Tri-gene. Those are SUPER recessive and hard to pass down. So, it's best to have a Tri on both your dragons is you pair them. Trust me.

how do you get more dragons to breed to the dragons you started with?

From what I understand(which isn't much, I only just joined as well) you can buy them at the auction house, find a random egg scavenging (it's very rare though) or breed them. Although there are quite a few raffles/giveaways on the forums for newbies at the moment(At least in my flight there is) that are handing out all kinds of things, including dragons, you might want to check them out c:

i read you cant inbreed them (i think)

and can dragons always breed, or do they get old, or do they die?

can you make dragons if you purchase gems?

im only asking because id prefer not to buy other peoples eggs and have other peoples dragon lines with mine (its a thing of mine with playing other games)

you could say id prefer "private lines"

DaFryingPan pretty much summed it up. There are 100s of 100s of dragons for sale in the Auction House. You can trade them, find eggs and so much more. I find the AH is the best place to start and to get some cheap dragons for starter breeding projects. c:

@Topiratti
- No, if they are to 'close' in their gene pool then they can't breed.
- Always, they never die.
- NO, that would defeat the challenge of the game. You can purchase gene and change their breed but the rest is up to breeding.
- And then I think you might not get to far in this game. :c

Let's say your dragon's genes are Basic/Basic; you can by a "Primary Gene: Tiger" and make their gene become Tiger/Basic. I'm going to use some random dragons as an example.

Primary: White Basic
Secondary: White Basic

But if you give him a Primary Gene: Tiger.

No, they are still related. It's just making them look different. You can change your starter dragons genes and their breed instead of just having basic everything.

So you know, there is nothing wrong with having a dragon with a long lineage. You gain nothing from it being shorter nor does it effect 'health' for them. You breed dragons to try and get a certain color and you will need outside dragons to get this to happen. And some Breed Scroll cost a LOT of both Treasure and Gems.

probably not, and i dont really care for colours xD

i can always keep hoping ill get an egg when i forage, and can it appear anywhere you forage, or only say for looking for u=items?

and what does leveling up do?

can you always breed your dragon? or is there a limit?

These are two of my most colorful pair, and here is one of their offspring.

Both of the parents had the Underbelly as their Tri gene, so it was a 100% chance to be passed on their their offspring. If you are confused how colors work, here is a pretty nifty thing one of the members on FA made.

- - -

- You might be playing the wrong game then. The whole point is to get a certain color combo. That's what people look for when they buy, sell and trade.
-You have a chance to find them while foraging. Not cure the % is tho.
- To battle your dragons in the Colosseum to find items, companions and to level them up. The higher the level the more you get when you exalt them.
- They can breed forever but each breed has a 'cool down' between breeding.

----------------------

ADDED:
Also, the other point to buy dragons for the Colosseum to have dragons of different elements.
