I have to agree with @CollectorsEdition
In the past I've played clickable games and they just aren't as fun. I much prefer getting baby pets and getting on to see they've grown up instead of worrying all night they are going to die or something...

Changing course of this post:
Going off the choose your own adventure idea, what if at the beginning you take a "personality test" (Fallen, like your sole mate center) and at the end they get a "Spirit Pet" it would be a non tradable pet that you would (if we do it) send on quests, play games with, and more. You would dress it up to coustomize it further! Then it would be easier to find people you are like based on their sole pets and this would open up a huge way for people to get to know one another better!

So like there could be like 4 main catagories or something: Griffey, Dragon, Alicorn, Phoenix. Then in those catagories there would be 4 more discribong your main personality type. It would keep splitting to get a detailed discription of the person. Then the person would receive a overview of their personality and they woupd accept or try again if it is completely off. Then they would receive their starter pet and some normal currency, maybe some items for dress up.

That sounds cool! I think doing a full "test" and splitting further from 4 categories gets on to be a bit much, though. I don't think we'd want to end up with Harry-Potter-style 4 houses with division between, and defining groups by personality could do that- worse, it might result in a hierarchy.
We could have players choose an "element" and get paired up with an animal based on that, maybe? Or a symbol that would then appear on their starting animal (which would also help players identify starter animals throughout changes to design).

Kinda late criticism about these ideas uh

Personally, I'd prefer if it wasn't a click game since those are kinda time-consuming and it could become annoying to others when someone attempts to advertise their clicks on another website. I'd prefer it CS-styled.
Being able to adopt 5 a day...? There'd probaby be an overload of pets that would make the site laggy and everyone would be scrambling to constantly get pets that could potentially be rare. Those "rare" pets would be downgraded heavily if there's many of them. Most likely.
I'm assuming that you mean we'll have to unlock stuff as we go on and we're limited at first. Yes, that could be a possibility, but could the coder code that in? It's probably difficult to, and would, again, most likely make the site lag. Newcomers could also be discouraged by this and leave.

Maybe we could have each element have folklore. There could be 12 elements. Each month, a different element would host and so different pets would come each month based on the element's thing. Oh and items too.

I am currently in between lectures, and cannot fully reflect on all ideas, but what I can say is that this site will not be a clickable site in any shape or form. Both Shan and I do not like this concept so it will not be happening!

Once I am finished with my lecture, in about 4ish hours I will be able to reflect on the other ideas!

Not to mention the number of scammers. The only thing I use it for is giving my friends last minute bday presents as I have quite a few Rares and betas. Unfortunately I can't trade them for stuff on here lol. Maybe on the new site xD...
