When I first saw this PPS I was soooo happy, because I love the original design, and I thought the placement of the bow on the PPS version was perfect. :D However, when I looked at it more closely I noticed that the proportions of the lights were off: The cable is too thick and the lights are too small. Moreover, the lights wrap around the adult version far more elegantly. This makes me really sad. It was such a wonderful opportunity. :(

Well, I must agree, the lights are too small if compared to Grown up, yet, notice the light they give is diffrent so it's safe to asume those are not the same lights.
Also, it seems fair and logic that the PPS is clumsily wrapped, it is a kid playing with lights, duh'

But something I never understood about this dog is 'How comes the lights are working????' The socket is in it's mouth, so why there is light with no power?
But hey, if it's pretty it doesn't need to make sense, we are in a chicken smoothie after all ;)

Edit: noticed another oddity in 'timeline logic'
Grown up from 2009 is using old gen lights->colored glass, white light
yet the PPS from 2018 is using LED lights-> the light itself is colored
so in real time, it seems right, but in kid-grown timeline, it's reversed. I find this quite funny and it makes it so specialā™”
the artist intended that way????ā™”

Oh my gosh, I wish I had my PC at the moment so I could screenshot my sticky notes of "ideas for if I ever became an artist" - this exact idea of PPS versions of pets that never had growing stages has been on there for ages! Along with a big note saying "hollyfox" (; so now I've got my fingers crossed that that will happen by some Christmas miracle!!
My favourite from tonight was this little guy for sure:
    Image
He was my favourite of the three last year (though the lineart edits on the tail loom a bit thicker on their tiny little bodies, haha)

Another oddity is that the adult version looks like they have an actual bow tied around them, and on the baby it looks like it's a pattern on their fur.

Actually, not quite. The bows are almost identical, with no individual shading. And if you look at the grown up, you can see the 'ties' of the bow going underneath its legs, not above them like a real bow would do.
So both bows are fur paterns and not 'real' ones

Please keep in mind that different artists have different styles. Even if they recreate something, it is bound to look different. Even if it is the SAME artist - it's been years since the adult was released and art styles change too.

Besides, the lights aren't even different... the adult also has coloured light, but those red lights on red fur trick your eyes. :3
And the darker background versus the lighter background on the pup also makes a difference.

Look at these spots to see that the light is coloured.

I personally think it is a very cute and good PPS version, it is actually one of my favourites <3

I for one am absolutely over the moon with the multitail pps. The adult version is a favorite of mine and these little ones are too cute for words. I've got to get at least a full page in my hoard for them.

What I don't understand is why we are pointing out tiny nuances, which as Raire said, are just difference in art style. Let's just appreciate the beautiful art :)

We've always been pointing out tiny nuances, it's part of the game and the reason why, for example, the annual staff litter predictions are so popular.

Constructive criticism is part of the game, too. ;) I still believe that the proportions on the lights (thick cable, tiny lights) are off. Please, everyone, it's just as fine not to like a design as it is to like it.

It honestly makes me pretty upset that people took that to mean I didn't like it. :( I like it a lot, I don't care if you changed the art style, they both look great.
@Libelle Thanks for standing up for me, even though I wasn't even criticizing it.
