It's usually not worth getting stressed over token counts this early on^^
It's true that the first day can be extra exciting because you really want to get everything, but all token trade-ins will stay available until the end, so you have plenty of time to catch up on getting missed outcomes.
Especially once more stuff is released, because right now there's not a lot of different outcomes that others could be looking for in return for that double you want from them.

I have this fear as well. I do love the items but I'm thinking I'll wait until the end of the event to trade my tokens for them. I'd rather get all the critters first. =)

... and the pets that are available on the first day are (usually) available until the last day, which means they most likely won't turn into rare ones. I'd save as many tokens as possible for the upcoming week! :)
