My luck so far hasn't been that horrible, actually. While I did miss two guinea pigs, I managed to get different items each time from all three resort chip trade-ins (still need two wigs, though), and all three outcomes from the food trade-in.

Fruits and seeds are currently in banners only. Its the luck of the draw when you click a banner.

Its only day 1. More parts open up each day and shops get better with time. Events only last about 10 days so it won't be long of a wait.
