How come all of the previous year’s chats get locked? I’ve finished collecting this year’s summer event pets and I’m moving onto last year’s since I missed it, though I can’t seem to find anywhere to find trades except the trading forum, have I missed my chance?

all the chats get locked a bit after the event ends- it's typically when they show a sign of dying. there's no reason to keep old summer event chats up from years ago, as the demand for those pets goes down, and people overall lose interest, and stop posting for swaps. that and it would be a little spammy and cluttered if they were to continue being remade. you can always post pets you're looking for on the front page of your trade thread, trade rules, etc, though.

Rarities usually come out in a month or two, so you will just have to wait until the next rarity update

The event already ended a few days ago, so the stamps and adopts are no longer available. I'm afraid you've missed them, sorry :c

I wasn't expecting so many rares from this event. I am curious, do the staff get to see the number of adopts to determine that? Also curious how many tokens didn't get turned in. I always am curious about things like that though

Rarity is determined based on the number that exists of an outcome, compared to the number of active user accounts.
The only people who have access to the actual numbers are the Admins, everyone else -staff included- can only see the rarity tags.
The same goes for the number of tokens traded in/existing on the site.

Token pets usually turn rare or uncommon. People who manage to collect hundreds of tokens are a minority, most people play much more casually and don't end up with tons of extra pets^^
