Pet's name: Sibella

I looove the colouring on this dog! Infact, it reminds me of a character from an old Scooby Doo film some of you may have seen called Ghoul School? So of course I just had to style her based on one of my favourite characters - Sibella! ^_^

That's because the parent which this dog is -very- similar to, shown in my earlier posts, is the dog that was based off of that rat during last year's Advent event.

There's really not much difference between the parent and this growth. It's pretty much the same dog with a few extra bright red lines and red eyes, only it's without horns and a few other minor changes. =/ I can see these dogs being easily mistaken for each other in the future and there was definitely some room for some more noticeable changes than this. I'm not really that surprised, though. When I saw this dog as a newborn, I kinda figured it would end up about like this. I wish it was fading between colors from each parent and not the exact same colors of the one. That would be something I would definitely have preferred...

I know that those are just pixel dogs and genetics do can not really play a role. But did you ever see a child of a parent where they look very similar or a nearly look-alikes? As example a friend of mine has a kitten where it looks nearly 1:1 like the mother, and when it was grown up you could not really tell the two apart from minor details. Same happens also with humans where the grown up child looks nearly uncanny similar to the parent. It just happens, so why not with those pets?

And really they are not hard to tell apart, the eyes are different, one has horns, and the child has the red stripes on the tail. And guess what, a second gen tag :O. We have other pets that are more hard to tell apart than this one.

The difference is that there's a reason for 2nd gens on this site, from how I've always understood it, anyway. That reason is to add new designs to the site's pets in a way that also adds familiarity by mixing two different designs, which should spark creativity. When you make one of the 2nd gens so similar to the parent, like this one is, it fails to really add much of anything new to the site because it's an almost exact duplicate. I honestly don't see much creativity involved in this pet as far as mixing the parents' designs goes.

It clearly appeals to some peoples' tastes, like the people who liked the design of the parent but didn't like the horns. It just doesn't appeal to me because, when I think of CS 2nd gens, I expect something that is closer to a mixture of the two parents. As far as this one goes, I don't see hardly any of the 2nd parent at all, actually. However, I do see a lot of promise in some if its siblings, so it's just this one outcome that I feel this way about.

I'm glad this one lacks the horns since it is so close to the parent with them, I just wish It would've had a little more of a difference. Something like fading from black to red/purple instead of the exact same colors as the one parent would've been more to my 2nd gen tastes.

Actually we have 2nd gens on CS because people want to be able to breed their pets. But CS isn't a breeding sim and never will be so instead the artists will 'breed' the pets for us =3

Well, yes, I know that, Minimanta. I was explaining my view of how it has always seemed to work since I've been on here, not why it was originally started. Like I said, it -does- appeal to some people, just not me. Which shouldn't really be a problem. :3 I'm really looking forward to some of the other outcomes, though. o3o

:3 The 2nd gen does have a different stripe pattern and has dark maroon back feet instead of purple which seem like bigger differences to me~ The more I look at them, the more differences I can see~ ^-^

I'm really enjoying these 2nd gens and can't wait to see the orange pup grow~

I absolutely love this outcome. I love how he carries the color of one parent, the tail stripes and wing claws of the other...the eyes are as if you took the dark eyes of 1 parent and the orange eyes of the other & mixed them to get the stunning red!
one of my favorite Halloween pets this year!!

Lol, I had a trade canceled for the white howling PPS because the person think the white one will be rare *Rolls eyes*
The pups are still available and they only costs two lollies and one pumpkin. No way on Earth are any of those pups going to be rare for YEARS XD

People are overvaluing those pups by a long shot... *Sigh*
