Yep. :3 Technically they're event tokens (as well as the flowers and fireflies).

I'm a bit paranoid about the whole slumber party at the mayor's house thing. I understand different timezones, but what about inactive accounts?
Its the only part of the event that is puzzling me.

What do you mean? It's just a way to keep track of all the pets wearing the new items.

There's a progress bar at the bottom. I guess they will have taken into account inactivity
