Plot twist: it's the fae from last summer, causing yet more mischief because they missed us! Fae Mischief 2: the Trashening

Alternately there's another carnival on the other side of the woods (Cirque du Smoothei itself, perhaps??), and Ryder is a spy for said other fair. Waite takes notes back and forth, because they're smol and sneaky as rats tend to be. (Also Ryder-Waite, I see what you did there and I love it)

Hmmm. I think its good to establish motives/alibis for everyone. As the event goes on we can see how it lines up!

Alegria:
Says she wants her circus to succeed.
Has been nothing but sweet to us.
Why would she want to sabotage her own circus?

Friendliness could be an act.
Could be holding a grudge against someone at the circus for her injury.
Could be trying to draw attention to the fair by getting in the news.

Unice:
Is constantly working on her carousel.
Why sabotage the park?

Has the mechanical know how to disrupt rides.

Tanya:
Seems nice and innocent.
Someone else could be sabotaging her plushies.
Why would she harm to fair?

Is brand new to the team.
Hasn't mentioned much about the occurrences at the park.
Could be messing up her own plushies.

Helio:
Gives cool ballon animals but seems insistent that we get on top of the trash problem.
Why would he do this though?

Has many arms to yeet trash.

Puck:
Takes pride in his food.
Why would he sabotage his chances of people finding out about his culinary art?

Could want the fair to close in order to start his own restaurant.

Scruff:
Why would do this though?

He has plenty of access to trash.

Ryder:
Why would they sabotage the park?
They could've been writing and letter innocently.

Was writing a secret letter that they don't seem to want to elaborate about.
Seems to have something against Barker.

Is suspicious of Ryder and their magical abilities.
Has something against Ryder.

plot twist: a former member of Cirque du Smoothei, Alegria's group, is sabotaging the carnival because Alegria left and because the carnival is getting more business than they are

I swear to god it's Monster Carnival all over again. Wouldn't be surprised if one or all of the carnies are monsters. Alegria seems way too nice I'm pretty sus

I like the theory, purely because the idea of a squid throwing trash around using all his arms makes me laugh.
