2024 Summer Event: Pet, Item & Event Discussion

hii!
i'm kind of confused about 'The Reckless Riders' (I mean the train page yesterday!) I opened it but i didn't read it all and I now realize it's gone xD
Does anyone know what that meant? c:

It was just a wrap up to the story of this event (for those who were following along as opposed to just adopting pets). Explaining why the Riders were seen as outlaws, why Earp ran and is now in jail, etc. - there was no items/pets given away from it.

There's probably a copy of the text somewhere in this forum...But also stuff like that is usually posted in the 'Past Summer Event' topic after the events over for archive purposes

Can't believe its already over lol, were all summer events that short? Just a bit over one week it was, right? Or am I braindead atm? XD

This was a normal length, the average is 10-13 days and this was 10. That is only counting days of new story + new releases, there are still 3 more days of token hunting left which is technically still part of the event ^^

Yay I’m so happy we got otters on the last day!! And they’re not token pets so I won’t feel tempted to spend the rest of my tokens on them lol.
I’m not really sure about the first darker one, I think the face is the cutest part of the otters and I don’t like that it’s covered up Not being able to see the eye is kind of strange. At first I didn’t like it but maybe it’ll warm up to me.
Of course in my adopts I got three of the ones I liked the least But they are still otters and I can’t bear to trade them away for the one I don’t have.
And I finally got all caught up with the token pets!! I was amazingly lucky and I got both all the bear and the bison on the first four tries with no extras!! The first time that’s happened to me this event!
So that little otter is the last pet I’m missing for the event lol. I can’t believe it’s over already!! I’m glad it is though, I’m starting to feel tired of all the token hunting and a little burnt out on chicken smoothie >.<

I don't care how illogical or whatever it might be, but am I the only one wanting another 2nd gen Summer Event pairing litter from these two?

I mean, we got the one of Archie and Cleo (Egypt event 2013, and the litter is April 2015)..why not these two?

I want it toooooooooo

I just want to say that in our humble opinion, this has been, for us and our personal tastes, the best summer event ever.

EVERY litter and pet has been so clearly made with love and they're all so fun--we love the balance between natural colorations and "fantastical" types. We love that the free and token pets are all desirable. We love the lil saloon game, the story, the NPCs, and the train chat was so cute. And we especially feel so happy and proud to see characters we can relate to in the stories. Dodge being nonbinary was such an exciting moment for us, and the queer relationship stuff is just... THERE. They're just THERE. Nothing weird, just adorable romance in a setting we know historically has a lot of queer history and important meaning. It... feels good, feels organic. And for us, the wild west and the gayness of classic cowpoke culture is a special thing, so we may be biased, but hey.

THANK YOU to everyone who pitched in to give us this beautiful event full of gorgeous new linearts, reimagined favorites, beautiful family-friendly story-telling that everyone can enjoy, and so much variety and inclusion. <3

I loved the event a lot!! The wild west theme was so cool and we got so many cool pets. That said, I do have some complaints.
(These look like a lot of complaints, I am sorry. I still really liked the event! Just because I liked it doesn’t mean there isn’t parts I don’t like.)
-All that talk about the train and we got NO train-themed items or pets??!
-I didn’t like the story that much but that’s just my personal tastes. I just didn’t really like the reckless riders I guess.
-I can’t get over the car in the outskirts, it really bothers me lol. It’s the wild west, why is there a car?? I thought I would get over it but I never did.
-Some of the NPCs’ outfits didn’t seem very “wild west” to me. I get they’re working with the items chicken smoothie already had, but some of them just seemed anachronistic to me? Like it doesn’t really matter but it bothered me.
-I really liked the badger and the pronghorn pet but I’m still sad we only got one pronghorn and no PPS pronghorn!! Also there doesn’t seem to be a way to get an extra of the pronghorn or badger? I don’t like that, are they trying to make an outcome that’s impossible to get for anyone that missed the event? I know not everyone cares about a complete collection but come on.

Now to make this long post even longer lol because this next part really should be its own post but you can’t post back to back lol.

We've had mixed species in the past, for example the Medieval fair had Bwolves x Wolves :eyes:
