They're not; the artist Codex said this:

They’re not based off anything in particular. I don’t know any cryptids except mothman LOL so I just tried to make some sort of forest spirit/guardian creatures

The event was great! I am obsessed with these pipe cleaner snakes!
I decided to make my own!

I actually made one when I was little, at seven, maybe eight years old? I don't know anymore. But I still have this little dude, he's already a little dusty but I loved seeing the pipe cleaner pets! At first I thought they were worms on a string. I made mine back then because I wanted a worm on a string and mine broke or I didn't have one yet or I lost mine or whatever so I tried to make a new one. It didn't really work for obvious reasons. But he's cute. He could use a new pair of eyes though.

I remember when I saw this worm on a string at a arcade or something and I was obsessed I wanted one so bad but it was really overpriced like normal things at a arcade so I decided not to get him but these are so cute I love the idea of pipecleaner worms I think I made another years ago but I sadly lost it.
