2023 Summer Event: Casual Chat

Honestly i still liked this event, but my favorite is definitely a tie between the cave diving one and last year's internet one.
I was really looking forward to this theme because i LOVE camping and i love nature, but unfortunately the story on this one felt very short (i'm still a little unclear on what happened), and the NPCs and interaction didn't feel as in-depth as other events in the past. It was really fun, but not top 3 for me personally unfortunately. I'd have loved a bit more suspense, and more to do with nature hikes or foraging, although the lake fishing minigame is an amazing detail! I imagine that had a LOT of work put into it. The map is beautiful though, and i love all the cryptid themed pets! I really like seeing CS branch off and create new adjustments to the existing line arts.
I think this event may have had the greatest effort put into it in terms of artistry so far, and it really shows! I just wish the story was more fleshed and had a bit more explanation to it, if that makes sense?

Honestly I didn’t think about the antler thing because I’m pretty sure there are some female deer that have antlers. For Andrea though, I gave her a nonbinary pride horse plushie and I intended to use she/they pronouns for her, but in the end I didn’t want to make the story hard to follow for casual players (it’s not like writing a book where you know a reader will likely see all your writing). Also it made her kind of like me which I thought was neat; my gender identity is probably closest to agender under an umbrella of nonbinary but I only use she/her pronouns. And if anyone was wondering, yes she and Cirrus are dating, lol.

I have absolutely loved this event. It is the first one I have been able to fully participate in and keep up with and it has been amazing! Also we are possibly a bit obsessed with the pets and items, especially all the love for mothman. It is clear that so much effort has been put into this and we are so glad to be here for the experience.

Lacuna thank you for the confirmation Andrea and Cirrus are dating. I thought so! And I love the gender stuff with her and her disability too. She's meant a lot to a lot of us this year!

The under sea summer event (with the Royal family lions and I think Atlantis?) is still definitely my favourite. The story was so much fun and there was so much to do, things changed a lot each day, and the pets were just incredible!

But I can happily say this is a very firm second favourite. I've really really enjoyed this year's event and I just want to thank you, the artists, the coders (just Nick?) etc for putting so much work into it! It shows, and the fun you make for us gives us a week or year that I always look forward to so much. Sometimes I'm having a bad time and the summer event has got me through it. Thank you for that, too.

honestly this snake outcome has a very personal meaning to me and i didn't really have a solid clue on how to dress up an already so cluttered pet, so i thought, wouldn't it be fun to just drown it in penguins? lol

This event was fun, for sure, every year is

this year my luck was awful, got so many doubles and struggled with everything xD
but first time for everything.

The event was pretty good. I wasn't a fan of the fishing minigame and a whole set of tokens being locked behind it, if I'll be honest (though I won't deny that my horrible luck is a contributing factor to that), but the rest was still fine. Also, I can't tell if I was just somehow insanely lucky or if the RNG for the banner pets was improved, but if it's the latter then I hope it continues from here on out. Banner pets are always my least favourite aspect of CS events.

I've only been able to properly join in on the summer events since a few years ago due to multiple IRL reasons and constant long hiatuses, and I don't think there's ever been one I haven't enjoyed so far. Sometimes I wish I was able to experience the much earlier ones.

I still think these naturalistic worms are cute...

Tried to get myself invested in it, but it wasn't completely capturing my interest.

this is the first actual summer even ive participated in since joining ! 2019 was fae mischief but i didn't really know how to do it so ,,,, we dont count that lol
