Is this based on someone's real cat who died when it grew older?

Yes, this pony is based on Lilian's cat, Helly. However, sadly he did not pass away from old age, but from kidney disease :c

Back in in 2015 I made a cat themed pony litter with two PPS's designed after my cats Billy and Helly. Later that year I got to make GUPPS of Billy's pony and even included his favorite plushie as a little bonus:


And although I really wanted to make a Helly GUPPS as well, I never found the time to do so... well, as some of you may know already, Helly died back in early october after a tough battle with a grave kidney disease. I'm still dealing with his loss, and it only felt right to finally make this GUPPS as a small tribute.

Will there be a day where we can revive these old pets, like the last year's? I'm not sure because I can't find any information about it yet. When will it start?

Re-release is scheduled for December 18th each year c: So we still have two days to go before the big gift!

CS backgrounds have been so good lately. :o Glad we've got more skilled artists doing them now, this is such an improvement over the first backgrounds, lol. It's cool to have some light snow too, as opposed to the blizzard item.

Interesting background on Lilian's GUPPSs, I loved the Billy GUPPs when it was released and was excited to see Helly's. Never knew they were based on real individual cats. Sorry for your loss.
